My journey through (and beyond) the valley with Cancer as my companion.
Dear Friend:

This is not a Blog about writing! (I already have one of those.)

This is a blog about a journey I am taking with illness. I have recently been diagnosed with Cancer. My goal is honest therapy as I progress through, and beyond this new reality in my life. I hope that, somewhere along the way you will find some words that will help you too.

While this is, in fact, an interactive Blog, I hope that you will scroll slowly down this page. For you see, the front of this Blog IS my journey. The entries are conversations that are held along the journey.Yes, there is a lot on it--before actually getting to the Blog entries. But, I hope that by the objects and words which appear before the Blog itself, you might come to understand just a little bit about me, and my journey, and some truly amazing friends who have agreed to journey with me. I hope that you, too, will choose to accompany me on my walk--through the Valley.

I invite you to join me, and discover the wondrous truths, meet some truly amazing people, and share those "memorable" moments this journey will undoubtedly present. Come along, won't you?

“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved.”

I have moved the list of my thanks for those who have helped to make this little Blog so very special. I hope that you will take a moment to read the list, growing every day, and let these fellow travellers along this journey know that you appreciate the contributions they make to our walk together.

The skeleton has been wired together. Requests for Graphics have gone out. What the 2015 Annual Advent Adventure requires for success exists.

Now, all I need to do is put the meat on the bones, have a few dozen bold and daring Adventurers join the journey, and get to writing the daily activities.

One of the major challenges for me, and especially now, is to create activities which will require no more than thirty (30) minutes per day for 26 days (12/1-25/15). "Advancing Through (and Beyond) Adversity" is the title. As I said earlier, real life in my life has usually spawned the ideas for the Annual Adventures.

Should you find the idea appealing, you can feel free to join the Adventure here:

Recollection is a dangerous activity for me. The short term memory continues the downward spiral. I've been reading my personal journal for 2015, and think there is enough there to create short daily activities for the Adventure. I am also counting on a few Adventurers to suggest some topics along the way, as well.

I hope it goes well. After the apparent reality that no more Adventures would be written/experienced, this one is kind of special. I hope it does what the agreement calls for.

Yesterday, I shared Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner with Sara and her husband at there home. It was a truly wonderful time. The house was taking on the annual dressings for the Christmas holidays. The meal was well beyond superb, and I got to bring a meal or two home to enjoy. Today, I enjoyed! *Smile* The company was agreeable, and I was at least a marginally passable guest for the evening. All in all, well done!

This had an interesting effect on our combined angst concerning "Black Friday". We turned it into a friendship celebration, and the day was wonderful. My boys stayed home, and looked rather nonplussed when I arrived home. Oh, well. Some things really should not change, I guess.

In His Care,

Budroe
