Simple stuff, really. Musing uncharacteristically challenged. BLog
My favorite thing about the PDG is that I get to be a squatter in the Student Lounge, otherwise known as Charlotte’s Lounge. I didn’t really have much choice because there is this Dragon that captured me and makes me do her bidding, you know. I really don’t have to even keep the place clean except to occasionally delete some links that get shut down. I certainly enjoy being surprised by others who come in and move things around and even update things. Not just any Paper Doll Gang member can make changes there, I believe they have to be a level 13 or above, meaning they have to be at least a Junior Leader in the group. The newbies who go through the Lounge are all important, though most only ever post once there and never again. That is okay too. We all have our lives to live. It is like I am sitting on the front porch waving hello to every passerby. Most times, I get a friendly hello and almost never a goodbye. Occasionally, I will run a contest for Charlotte and a few of the passersby’s will stop in for a bit and play a short game. I try not to get into anything too elaborate. People do get upset when the rules are too complicated. I don’t want upset people!

So I do require gp’s upon occasion, but not too often. Charlotte likes the shiny things becoming one with her scales. There is a special ritual that I am willing to share with you that allows me to get gp’s from the group leader. Here it is:
Nope, I take it back. the ritual is too precious to share.

So, this about covers my most favorite thing about the PDG; I like greeting people and watching them go on to more fame. Yep, there it is!

Busy day for me, though the wife would/did say otherwise. Funny. I started the day by doing dishes, then I planted my garden after tilling the earth. Then I mowed the lawn, got out the chain saw and cut up a tree that was down. The tree was nearly two feet wide at the base. And, I watched the boys while she was out sewing and then she left to visit her mom at the campsite. The point of my story is coming: satisfaction is hard to achieve and maybe impossible in some cases, like mine. The wife comes home and notices nothing but the laundry. 'You could have at least put in a load of laundry!' she said. I still love her. I figure she has all the logic cause I can't make sense of it. Laughter is good remedy for some sickness's.

Working outside and mentally writing is exhausting! I wish it were easy to rewrite and edit. Can't always have that, though. Can we? I wish I could have a lawn, carpet would be better, oh, and a glass dome to keep the place clean and bright, self-cleaning, of course. Too much to ask?

I have been treating myself to episodes of the Bionic Woman, mostly because I like the actor who played Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica . At $1.99 an episode, I don't get them too often. I grew up with Steve Austin (Might not be the correct spelling) and the price of bionics is a bit steeper now a days. Is it all about money? Only when you don't have quite that much, eh?

Got the news today that my son's teacher's baby died as was expected. This baby had Anencephaly and lived for four days along with his twin brother. I am sure she, his teacher, was better able to deal with this issue because she is a special needs teacher, but I am also sure it was extremely painful. The twin is missing a kidney, so the troubles aren't over. I think everything else is okay, but I am not sure. Sad things happen and someone is worse off than we are and need our prayers more than we do but this is the one thing we should never give up and that is prayers. A prayer with every breath and to share every breath with others...

Sometimes I don't close projects out when I should and I might get a note from my son who is now ten but was nine when he left this note and I only now got back to this story. These are just scenes meant for inspiration...Check out the message after the story! The story wasn't meant for him.

Things got out of hand that night.
What do you mean things got out of hand?
That night? I had a few drinks-nothing like I haven’t had before.
You don’t remember waking up with my sister?
Things got out of hand that night. It isn’t like I killed her!
She is dead and you killed her!
What? What? I didn’t…
Yes, you did. I watched you do it. I recorded it
I…I don’t remember. This can’t be happening! (Cough, cough) I can’t breathe
This is the only way to cleanse our sins. You will burn for…
Wait! Wait! You don’t have to do this!
When you said things got out of hand that night, well, that night isn’t over.
Wait! (Cough, cough)
I am –killing- you, but did not light the –fire that will (Cough) kill me! Hi dad!

Vampires are a wonderfully evil/non-evil creature whose creation leads to statements like: "Oh mien Gott, not another vampire...!"

What if I were to take away the language (Unless you speak it, in which case there is little I can do in this case so just pretend. Perhaps watch it without volume?) When you watch this, see if you can find a reference to werewolves in it that seem so oft used these days. Not saying it is there, just look for it...

Oh, don't watch this if your ears hurt from heavy music or your eyes burn easily from deadly beauties...

I have so many books of the paper variety and I wonder if it would be a mistake to get rid of a chunk of them? I know I will never get to read the majority of them, especially since I do most of my reading on the Kindle. Ya, the Kindle is awesome. I have never tried anything else seriously. It has been good for me. I wish I could download people's stuff here on WDC so I can read it at my leisure. Wouldn't that be cool! I am sure I could copy and paste and all that, but it would really be great to connect and share with little effort. What say you? I know, you are the silent type.

Found this neat contest prompt for a story somewhere here on WDC. It is Alice in Horror-Land! So, I have been writing a story for this prompt. It just struck me as a good story to write and I have been going for it. As I have been writing, I noticed that Alice has a bit of a potty mouth. I don't talk like that myself but it makes me wonder if my character is truly coming alive? SHE'S ALIVE!

I did go back later and happened to look at the winnings for the contest and I did wonder what good 1 free page of editing meant. I imagined a response like here is what your cove page should look like! I am sure it isn't that, unless it is, of course, then I am just unsure.

Ever watch anime? I just recently watched a show called, "Murder Princess" and it was awesome! A castle was being overrun and the princess was sent running for her life as her father, the King, was killed. She runs into a merc soldier in the woods and the two shortly after fall to what should be their death but they don't die. It seems that when two souls are released by near death experience at the same time, sometimes they can return to the wrong body. So, here we have the merc soldier in the princesses body. She returns to the castle and brutally takes the throne. The original princess comes to terms with the body exchange and vows her eternal support for the merc's bravery.

How awesome is that?

On the way to work this morning I was imagining the world my main character lived in. It was almost as if I was there in that alien world. It was awesome! Too bad I was driving and not writing, grrrr.

Sometimes writing is like living in my favorite world but often the words come out like barbed wire on bare flesh. Either way, escape is limited.

I wonder what other people think about when driving to work? Is it getting ready for the days work? Preparation is natural, I think. But, it is also natural for daydreamers and writers to prepare their life away. Shucks, what would I know about anything!

Happy Birthday to my youngest! He turned 8 today on this day, Friday the 13th. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you . Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you.

Having the party at Home Depot on Sunday. Who would have thought they would put on community services like that? The price is right in a great store.
