Simple stuff, really. Musing uncharacteristically challenged. BLog
My favorite thing about the PDG is that I get to be a squatter in the Student Lounge, otherwise known as Charlotte’s Lounge. I didn’t really have much choice because there is this Dragon that captured me and makes me do her bidding, you know. I really don’t have to even keep the place clean except to occasionally delete some links that get shut down. I certainly enjoy being surprised by others who come in and move things around and even update things. Not just any Paper Doll Gang member can make changes there, I believe they have to be a level 13 or above, meaning they have to be at least a Junior Leader in the group. The newbies who go through the Lounge are all important, though most only ever post once there and never again. That is okay too. We all have our lives to live. It is like I am sitting on the front porch waving hello to every passerby. Most times, I get a friendly hello and almost never a goodbye. Occasionally, I will run a contest for Charlotte and a few of the passersby’s will stop in for a bit and play a short game. I try not to get into anything too elaborate. People do get upset when the rules are too complicated. I don’t want upset people!

So I do require gp’s upon occasion, but not too often. Charlotte likes the shiny things becoming one with her scales. There is a special ritual that I am willing to share with you that allows me to get gp’s from the group leader. Here it is:
Nope, I take it back. the ritual is too precious to share.

So, this about covers my most favorite thing about the PDG; I like greeting people and watching them go on to more fame. Yep, there it is!

Okay, I think I mentioned getting an ATV with a plow to replace my plow vehicle? Not cheap and it certainly added to my debt, however, I must say, I think it is so worth it as a plow vehicle because I am not cursing a vehicle that rarely works and I am not shoveling my long driveway because I don't want to pay someone else to plow for me. Bad?

Another use is leverage for my 9 year old special needs son to get potty trained. Yep. Stay dry and you will get a ride on the ATV! Three days this week he stayed dry at school. Yay! He looks quite sharp with his helmet and goggles on, let me tell you. This potty training thing has been a long time coming. Finding the right bribe is useful. The teacher is sure happy. Me too. I am still finding reasons to tell the wife it was a good thing to buy. Trying to save my butt too. This last thing has made it worth it if nothing else. Have a great day!

Spaghetti for dinner. Home made! My oldest caught me blending a small onion into the mix. Good thing he didn't see the peppers! Blenders are great for hiding veggies! Garlic toast, simple, take a part stick of butter and mix in some garlic powder. Since I pulled the butter out of the fridge, I simply nuked it for 15 seconds, then mixed the powder in and apply with a spoon. It is awesome with a bit of provolone cheese too. Great stuff! I am no chef but this is good! Did I mention that I cook the hamburger in the sauce then put the noodles right in with it? Lot of oregano and a bit of basil, garlic is good. Whatever the taste buds demand at the time.

Yum!

Memory Road. That is the road I drove to work this morning. Twenty-two miles and I never saw the road because it was completely covered in snow. It was a slow ride in, let me tell you. Of course, my boss was in a mood; cranky dude is what we call him. His people skills are directly proportional to his stress level in that he quickly looses his temper.

My bosses boss has been asking (again) if we can glue a certain part together and he (again) told him we can't do it. Since he mentioned it to me, I told him quite frankly, yes, we can. Just turn the part upright so the glue is to the inside of the cut and it works just fine. "OH," he said. "Lets keep this to our self." Another sign of good leadership. For a while, recently, he had been making it hard to dis-like him because he had been under a lot less stress (business has been slow in our department) but today, his colors were flying again. Not that business has been picking up, rather, he found something else to stress about. It is hard to build trust when someone is bipolar. That is it for now.

First day plowing with my new plow vehicle! For some years, I plowed with a bronco 2 and it had no breaks. What a way to plow snow, eh? Well, the last couple of years my Bronco 2 has failed me, even when I thought I had it running again, as soon as the snow hit and I needed it, it wouldn't work. So, a couple of years of shoveling until I was just to sore to move, then getting the neighbor to plow me out, and I finally talked the wife into getting an ATV with a plow. The thing is, I get to use it in the summer too. That alone is worth it.

Tonight, I spend an hour in the dark trying to get the plow on and once I figure it out I realize it is stupid simple. Duh! Then, an hour plowing my driveway and we had this heavy, wet snow and the ground is still soft. I had a heck of a time, but by the time I finished, I was getting the hang of it and having a blast. What ATV did I get? Not the super expensive one, nope, I got a Sportsman 450 H.O. 2016. The first new thing I ever got. I am wiping a tear from my eye now. I am in love. It is nothing I can really afford, but truth be told, Shoveling was killing me. Besides, now the boys are taking an interest in the great outdoors. Safety first, though.

Somewhere not to far from here, a person put up a Zombie Nativity scene, complete with a zombie Christ. Some people were quite upset about this and demanded it be taken down. Poor taste, anti-Christian, and the pitch forks were out. Someone tried to get me into the mix but it didn't turn out the way they wanted it. "I like zombies!" This is what I told them and the shock was over the top. Sputter, sputter. This is Christmas and shouldn't be defiled statements were made. I said, "Reach out with hate and you will get hate back. Is it too much to try to love instead?" Of course, my point was overlooked and ignored. Minds were made up, but maybe, just maybe, the seed of good will might sprout later. All this made me think up a statement: Only God may hate and remain unchanged.

I have tried bitterness but it wasn't fun. I have tried poor me, and it wasn't fun. My idea of fun is not for everyone. I like to read and better yet, write...Right?

Stress needs release. Sometimes I make it a point to pick up on words or sentences from people as I pass by and see if I can think up a story from their words. I am not trying to listen in to their conversations but I do come up with some interesting words to write a story to. Lately, I have overheard a theme that is rather disturbing. "Live off the Land" has been overheard from different parties, unrelated to each other. I know living without aspirin and microwave would be rather difficult for most people so I don't think most people are going to move on. What I am really hearing is people are bothered by current events and wish things could be simpler. Me being a creator/destroy of worlds, I realize most people simply want someone to listen and care. Someone to miss them when they are not there. Of course, I come up with a gaming buddy. Gamming buddy is a virtual friend who can uncover getaways and even deals at the grocery store. The key to implementing is that not always is Gaming Buddy a virtual person but is sometime a real person too. We never know when the switch takes place.

Now, imagine the world government decides everyone must have the said Gaming Buddy and declare no one goes to space without out him/her. Things don't always get simpler but that is okay so long as we have a friend...or two. Thanks for reading.

So I find myself in a discussion today with a fellow who believes gaming creates criminals and the government should monitor and limit such activities. I admit it is hard to have a discussion with anyone who already has their mind made up. Of course, I am not smart enough to not take the bait so I have this discussion that I can't win. Not that it is about winning; it really isn't. Government conspiracies around every idea. The rich are evil and just want more. Get off the grid and get back to nature...how do you force people to be happy? If you say you don't, you are wrong. Sorry. It may not be right to force people to be happy but there is a way. I am not telling the way to happiness because it will ruin the surprise.

Let me say, Science and Fantasy is here to stay and barring a major catastrophe, it is something like forever. Imagine being told what books you can read and what you can not. Now try and un-imagine this. Let me know how it turns out...

I am proud of my neighbors, hear the sarcasm? Yes, they put up a flag and proudly show their patriotism. Kudos to them. However, they park their vehicles on my property without asking permission. I watched them blowing their leaves out of their yard and into my yard. Nice, huh. They have been doing this sort of thing for some time now. The one time I talked to them they asked if they could have passage rights so they could build a shed behind their property and it sounded more like a demand than actually asking. Of course, I said no. This would devalue my property and they haven't been the greatest of neighbors anyway. Now, the thing that really keeps me from setting them straight is that they are related to the fellow who has been nice and plowed me out in the winter time without too much fuss. It is hard to swallow my anger and let good feelings grow from it. It help to pass this anger on. Now it is yours, take too care of it!

So my Brother-in-Law gets his trapping license to trap beaver in order to reduce the population of these tree destroying critters and he caught a good size one too. 64 LBS! Not wanting to entirely waste the critters, he has been learning the art of skinning them and tanning. Beavers are good for lakes because they stop leaks by damming them and burrowing tunnels on the lakes bottoms too. But, they do attack the trees like a chain saw and can cause a lot of damage. First response was to kill them all but after doing his research, he learned that it is good to keep a controlled amount of the critters because they are good for the lakes. Lakes that have beavers are lakes less likely to dry up. It is a good point that rather than simply reacting and doing what is right, sometime it is best to step back and do some research. Less waste is better too. I know this may be a touchy subject for some but the small advances are better than no advances. Have a great day and thanks for reading!

So I am at work today wearing a pink bandana in celebration, so to speak, of breast cancer awareness (at work related), when a certain woman sort of compliments me on 'Remembering' to wear pink. Sort of a compliment. So I ask if she will wear the colors on testicular cancer awareness day(or week) and I get a dirty look! What is the difference? Should it be funny that it begins April 1st? First day of the exam, "Honey, I found a lump." Reply: "Fool! I have insurance on you!" Ya, that can't be good no matter what, I think.

I need a good weekend to finish my roof. Wish me no rain or high winds! Wish, wish. No, not swish, swish. That is for a latter day and not a day I am wearing pink. Or is it?
