     Two more days until the launch of
I hope some of you will join in the fun! The idea is a trip through the WDC "galaxy" on an imaginary spacecraft called the WDC Constitution. The stars or authors of WDC are the stars of this galaxy. Their ports are the planets circling those "stars". Either one of the team leaders or I (when the group begins to fill up) will choose one of the stories or poems in an authors port and select a line from that story, poem or article to use for a prompt. The bloggers will be the crew of the starship exploring that "planet" and we will analyze the specimen (sentence chosen by the leader as a blog prompt.) The author will be given full credit for the prompt and a bitem will appear in our blogs to link to it. The author gets advertised and we get to blog. It's a win-win for everybody! In order to get the blog prompt I need you to sign up for a group so I can mail it to you just like the prompts for other forums. Sign up by sending me an email and I will include you. I need both officers to help me send emails and choose prompts from individual ports and regular bloggers. If all works out I would like to set it up so we can collectively choose a Blogger of the Week and maybe a Blogger of the Month. Prompt: Tell us about your relationship with food.Now you are getting too personal.  . No, actually I am overweight. The American Association of Retired People (AARP) has a Body Mass Index Calculator that all you do is type in your weight and your height and it tells you where you fall on the scale from underweight to obese. It is at https://www.aarp.org/health/healthy-living/info-2017/bmi_calculator.html?CMP=KNC...{{/link} if anybody wants to use it. It's free. When I typed in my weight and height it responded with "Don't even ask".  No, it actually said what I already knew. I am obese. I am 80 pounds or about 35kilos over my ideal body weight. I should be 180 pounds and I am just over 255. The problem is metabolism. I take Adderal for narcolepsy. I take 40mg in the morning and 20mg at noon. You would think it would cause me to lose weight but it doesn't. It has no effect on my appetite. Then the food they feed you here is high calories and tasty so that doesn't help. The biggest problem is that I drink a lot of soda. I hate the taste of water so I drink soda instead. It has a lot of sugar. I tried diet and it didn't satisfy me. though I am trying to switch to it. Prompt: "Have you ever asked someone what their favorite poem is? It's not as easy as you would think for them to name an author and a poem with the reason why.One of mine is Marge Piercy's The Moon is Always Female. I was trying to understand women in general. Please recommend a couple to us and why." My favorite poet is Robert Frost. My favorite poem is "Snowy Evening in the Deep Woods". In this poem, Frost describes riding a one-horse sleigh through the snow down an old trail in the forest. When I read it I can actually capture the scene in my mind's eye because I owned a pony when I was young and used him as a work pony and to ride bareback. I fell in love with poetry the first time I read this as a youngster. Frost was still living at the time, though I never had the pleasure of meeting him. Snowy Evening in the Deep Woods was the poem in my fourth grade Mr. Barnes used to introduce the class to the topic of grammar and literature. I remember being enthralled with the poem and knowing that poetry would become my favorite genre of writing. I began writing poetry myself soon after. "Prompt: Stop and Stare: Create a poem or story about something you could watch forever."
