My Search

I

Into the mystic realm,
I let my mind take flight,
Over stone strewn highways,
I search the endless night.

I was the Wanderer,
Looking for a goal,
And the Seeker,
Searching for my soul.

I walked the roads of idle fancy,
Paths of material delight,
Stumbling over stones of vain imaginings,
In my search for the light.

A voice deep within me cried:
"Here doesn't lay your goal,
Upon these darkened pathways,
You'll never find your sou."

II

Into the mystic realm,
Again my mind took flight,
Over well traveled highways,
I search the misty twilight.

I was a Seeer,
Seeking an unknown goal,
And a Stranger,
To my own soul.

In this realm of half-light,
I strolled the roads of tradition,
Picking my way carefully,
Through the shadows of superstition.

Still from within came the cry:
"Not in this realm is your goal,
Upon these half-lit pathways,
You'll never find your soul"

III

Into the mystic realm,
Again I took flight,
And walked the paths,
Where God has shed His light.

I walked the hallowed highways,
Trod by the Prophets of old,
Strolled the ancient paths,
Strewn with nuggets of pure gold.

This is the wondrous realm,
Where all paths become one,
This is the glorious land,
Illuminated by God's sun.

Through the Word of God,
I have found my soul,
In the Messenger for this age,
I have found my goal.

Poet's Note:

Progressive Revelation

Progressive Revelation The wall between night and day, is bleached a pale gray: Dawn is a sacred promise. Dawn is a divine promise, that is kept again and again, down through the ages. Each day has new challenges, and different remedies for humanity's ills. The wall between night and day, is stained a pale pink: Dawn is a promise fulfilled! Each day has a new name: a new divine manifestation reflects the same sun. {dropnote:"Poet's Note:"}I don't... [Read more]
Alphabetical Poems

Alphabetical Poems Anthem for One World How do you write an anthem for one word? For a planet united in its diversity, whose citizens are united in love and unity. Breakfast In the silent dawn intone God's praise: sing Hallelujah; sing Allah-u-Abha; sing in melodious tones His soul cleansing names. In the silent dawn read God's sacred words: they are our souls coffee and toast; bacon and eggs; milk and juice. Colors of Love White beneath the... [Read more]

Silent Sympathy: To Grace N. Crowell

Silent Sympathy: To Grace N. Crowell The wind upon a tear soaked face Says nothing as it blows But its touch dries tears of grief With the perfume of rose: Lord, Let me be the wind today Carrying scents of rose. The sun shines on despondent souls And turns their grief to dust With its rays of silent joy It restores their trust: Lord, Let me be the sun today Transforming grief to dust. The snow lays on winter's nude fields Quieting baron fears And soothing with ... [Read more]
