A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

Manx Cat from Japan I thought Smashing Pumpkins was a game until I realized we are watching concerts of musicians.

I don't especially like the raspy tone of this singers voice however, the song and music caught my attention. It is lyrics with a little mystery and lots of meaning. It's a poem you can hang your own emotions on.

I'll go on any tour you want but, the money museum might be nice because, I would like to see what money looks like. I hear people talk about it all the time but, never get any in my own hands. *Laugh* Fox in a box sounds like fun but, don't know if I'm smart enough to play the game. Teams seems like we have enough for a couple teams. In any event, If the concert runs late someone might want to point me in the right direction for getting back to the Inn. I've been so busy I can't find my own way.

Jaden Smith as a rap musician. He really is following in the footsteps of his dad at least to a point. I watched several of his songs This one seems to send a message.

https://youtu.be/TK5YW8tJsx8

I'm not a very good critic of Rap musicians because I rarely listen to rap. I do like Earth Gangs tone and abilities. They represent a social aspect of the Black people we don't check out very often. Because of Black History they are one of the people who should be heard for the message they present to people of the earth. They speak clearly which is one of the Rap abilities I prize.

https://youtu.be/7rHNcshnxZo Young Thug has a voice people will listen too. The timber of his voice reminds me of Michael Jackson.

Back Stage might be a rockin good time when three groups like these three get together.

Ghosts and Vampires might be fun and it is New Orleans after all.

I'm off to rest. Our internet is back for awhile so I will try to get back to daily posting.

See Ya!!

Fairy playing a flute No time on Saturday to do internet so I'm catching up today.

(08/11/2018)I spent time on the River Parkway Trail. Lots of fun and a great place to ride a bike.

I wasn't really into the songs by Keith Sweat. I thought his voice is to nasal and too much emphasis on sex.

I found this by Jon B.

We watch Erie Extreme at home that's entertaining. I used to fish. When I was in North Dakota we fished pike on the Mississippi river.

This rockin music made my parrot sing.

(08/12/2018)

The River walk here in Ga. is the kind of place bike riding is a lark. Peaceful and good exercise, you can ride for miles easily without worry of ruts or gravel.

Basically, I have a bad attitude about Heavy Metal Music.

This video tells a part of the story about the military. So, FFDP has my vote (if it matters) as a worthwhile group. My first husband was in Viet Nam. He returned with a different view of the USA. I believe he had PTSD as well. He died in an automobile accident after returning to the USA and leaving the military. I never recovered from Viet Nam or his death but life goes on. I will exist, just to watch the crazy's go forward into The Sound of Silence.

Then there is this:

Happy Trails Ya all!!!!

Owl with signature The Boston Waterfront and other places to dance.

These large hotels with their beautiful views, for some reason always bring to mind end time novels I've read. Then I begin to imagine how they would be used if the worst upset in the country ever came to past. I need to write a song called, "Too much fiction comes to mind." Lyrics anyone??

Fenway Park has been the home of the Boston Red socks since 1912. That's more time than I've been on the earth. I'm glad it's older than me. Lots of people reminding me of my age lately, I'm not sure whether they are envious or dismayed?

this is Billy Joel's 5th year to appear at Fenway Park:

In the middle of the night *Cool*
I go walking in my sleep
From the mountains of faith
To a river so deep
I must be looking for something
Something sacred I lost
But the river is wide
And it's too hard to cross
And even though I know the river is wide
I walk down every evening and I stand on the shore
And try to cross to the opposite side
So I can finally find out what I've been looking for
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the valley of fear
To a river so deep
And I've been searching for something
Taken out of my soul
Something I would never lose
Something somebody stole
I don't know why I go walking at night
But now I'm tired and I don't want to walk anymore
I hope it doesn't take the rest of my life
Until I find what it is that I've been looking for
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the jungle of doubt
To a river so deep
I know I'm searching for something
Something so undefined
That it can only be seen
By the eyes of the blind
In the middle of the night
I'm not sure about a life after this
God knows I've never been a spiritual man
Baptized by the fire, I wade into the river
That runs to the promised land
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

Also, yesterday on the news I saw an area police force put on a musical rendition of a Michael Jackson song. It was done along side of a movie playing of Jackson doing the part himself. It was such a great performance and done as a social outreach to the community. Hope the community involved enjoyed it because it was a great show.

Fairy playing a flute

Elvis came into the life of people in this area at the end of a gospel era where people like Tennessee Ernie Ford reigned. a lot of the favorite singer came out of the church choir where they spent a childhood singing the songs of their faith.

Political and social issues came onto the public in music as well as print newspapers. One of my favorite songs Elvis sang was "In The Ghetto" because it painted a real picture and still does about where baby girls and boys end up if they don't have a proper childhood. They aren't called Ghettos any more but there are still street kids with guns.

I probably just like everything Elvis sang. I was very young (12? maybe 1957 - the 60's were on their way.) when he was going to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show. Our family was invited to go and watch the program by a friend of my Dad's on their new TV. The picture was about 10 inches big. This was an adult couple who wanted to know why the girls at Elvis Concerts were screaming during the show?
Now, I wonder if they ever really found out the answer to their question.

I liked the gospel Elvis Sang.

As we all gathered in that mobile vehicle and gave out rowdy performances. I laughed and sang all night. I have watched many Elvis Impersonators on PBS. Some of them are actually quite good. But, the performance Lyn, Carly, Blue Moon, Sandra Lyn, myself and all the others gave was priceless. Keep Rock-in n Rollin. *Cool*

I'm going to have a cup of tea. Wonder what the new album coming out tomorrow sounds like?

Two Days in the Omni Hotel should give me time to try out the exercise room and the pool. I'm not much of a swimmer but I can doggy paddle. *Laugh*

The story of Badfinger is a tradgety. I watched it on YouTube.Joey Molland is one of the original 4 who started BadFinger. He tours and plays their songs in the original way they were written. The original four were Pete Ham (who committed suicide), Mike Gibbins, Sam Evans and Joey Molland.
Harry Nilsson made this song:
a hit.

I was playing songs from Vanilla Fudge on YouTube and lo and behold. Bang Bang started with the music from Rogers and Hammerstein's the King and I. Who can forget the songs from Vanilla fudge: Bang Bang, Ticket to Ride, She's Not There, People Get Ready. https://youtu.be/QoRz9lCPDwA https://youtu.be/QgVPnWmUqd4

The whole building was rockin off its foundations at this concert by the time Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels started singin "Devil with the Blue Dress On/ Good Golly Miss Molly. https://youtu.be/AGMJnkrAQco. I did not link to this I think I'm over the link quota. In 1964 Fredrick Long and William Stevenson wrote "Devil With a Blue Dress On, but, when it was first recorded it did not hit. Many people wrote excellent dancing music but, often someone would come along and push it up the top 10 list with a variation of the beat, guitar or drumming arrangements.

This was a real educational visit to San Diego, California.

I need a rest good thing we are in the hotel for an extra day. All the group is tired tonight. Even Blue Moon and Sandra Lyn could ride the bikes.Maybe they ride at home. Electric bikes are great. What a great tour even the seals were waving as we rode by. *Cool*

This book is a Hoot!

We sometimes watch Austin City Limits on PBS. The hotel is great. I pulled some tables together in the lobby and we had a late night party after the concert. Lots of things to notice about this band. I'm not always fond of love songs. I think they influence the young too often. I do like the rhythm and beat of the music produced by Erasure. It was good music and lots of fun to find all these bands. Some of them I've never noticed before.

1988 Erasure in concert:

Who doesn't like science? What an unusual way to present sound almost a teaching experience.

Reed & Caroline:

Wild-about-Music: Just the place, I would like to see this shop closer to home. Is there one in Nashville? The hat store next door is *Cool* too.Carly, Lyn, Blue moon, Sandra Lyn, and Warped stopped by to try the food at my pulled together tables. Lots of chit chat about the concerts and The music shop. I'm glad the staff at the hotel didn't object to our little party but there wasn't a lot a people around. This brings out something I've been thinking about as we visit all these bands. They all have something individual to say about life and what they see around their own individual lives.

Have to cut this short. Rain and storms hitting the area right now and for the next three hours. *Wave*

Yes. I bought a Yogi Bear at the comfort station. It is riding around in my backpack. I'm beginning to feel like a teenager. Lyn finds the most amazing places to stay. The cabin here are really ritzy. Lyn, Sandra Lyn, Blue Moon, Noyoki, Warped Sanity, and some others took a hike around Jelly Stone to see what's here. That's when we found the comfort station with it's racks of goodies. Even though the temp. is 91 degrees the humidity is 48 degrees so not as bad as home today.

Maybe Sandra Lyn can tell me all about Gordon Lightfoot. I hope there are albums at the concert. I see he plays fairs maybe I can get someone to bring him to one of the fairs around here sometime?

Gordon Lightfoot says:"Let our hearts touch far horizons.
Let our love know no borders,
Draw the Circles wide until,
No one stands alone." - Gordon Lightfoot

"If you plan to face tomorrow, do it soon." - Gordon Lightfoot

Maroon 5 has some wild themes, one is girls, girls, girls. I guess He wanted to be a detective in his heart and settled on music to spread his knowledge of crime (see the stalker in animal). I chose the song embedded below because the video was a blast to watch *Smile*. The name may have evolved from the name of a school in long Island. The schools colors are maroon and white. Some of the band members attended 5 towns college. Some of them have been playing together with Adam Levine at very early ages, 12, 15 or 16. This is music to sing along with.

From songwriter to the stars to a glowing star in her own time, touring with Maroon 5 is a step up the ladder to fame for Julia Michaels

I have to say the stadium is unique.

Did everyone get lots of sleep Sunday after the party! Did you see the horses in the lobby of the hotel?

spring butterflys I am inspired!!

This is such a great song. I'm going to learn the lyrics.

Luke's first name is Thomas. He is from Leesburg, Ga. and started his music career writing songs for Travis Trett.

Sam Hunt is 33 and also hails from Ga. He tried for a professional sports career with football before he signed with MCA Nashville.

Morgan Wallen is 25 years old. He competed on season 6 of the voice but was eliminated. His father was a preacher. Morgan took piano and violin lessons as a child and suffered a sports injury before he went into music. He likes a variety of music types and writes lyrics.

John Pardi started writing music at age 12. He started his own band at age 14 when he lived in California. After High school he moved to Nashville to pursue a music career.

Denver Union Station isn't really just a place to visit it's a place to live. They have shuffle board. I talked Sandy into playing one game. We didn't have time for more. Then I rented a person with a bike cart (not sure what it's called it reminds me of a rickshaw) Sandy, Blue Moon and I tucked ourselves into it and went down 16th street for a ways. We saw some awesome street art and lots of different shops. Did you know there are 200 parks in the city limits. Too short a time here for all the sight seeing we could have done.

{link:https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=sam+hunt+songs} Sam Hunt music is about male and female relationships. Cop car is fun. It shows two young people flirting with danger while they flirt with each other.

Morgan Wallen country from the South. He must have met a lot of flak over the years with the way he talks?

And then, there is John Pardi's dancing music I listened to many of these and its just jivvin dancing music.

What's not to like about Chicago. I wonder if they will have albums on sale at the concert? This song is often the last song in one of their concerts. It was written by Robert Lamm who is the keyboard player. He wrote it while watching out the window of a home where he was staying and a lot of the lyrics describe things he could see out the window late in the evening.

Chicago 26 or 6 to 4

Reo Speed Wagon is famous for his songs with feeling and love involved. I just took this from the many I saw because it describes a young person growing up and the video put that into my head as the theme they were looking for when he sang the song.

Reo Speed wagon: I Can't Fight This Feeling Any more

Train rides are so great. I stole a window seat and watched as the scenery rolled by. All this and we get to go back to lyn's after the concert. Maybe I can get her scone recipe?

I was intrigued by the clear water and clean beaches. There was lots of parking and it was just a relaxing time with lots of environmental scenes. I took a lot of pictures at the concert. The amphitheater was great. I think I have a picture of Harry Potters owl on the beach. All of us were able to sit close as the concert seating gave a good view of the stage area. I'm going to sleep well on the return train ride.

Keep Dancing!spring butterflysJones State Park is a beautiful place.
