PROMPT: July 10th - What’s on your mind right now? Do you have any “brain worms” or current obsessions? If you didn’t have to blog right now, what would you be doing? "Brain Worms" Right now the only "brain worms" bothering me is the electric bill and the money I have to get to the power company by July 16. Oddly enough I seem to be able to keep them away today, but that may not be true when I go to bed. I find most of my worries (that don't bother me during the day) arise in the middle of the night and wake me from a semi-sound sleep. I don't sleep sell anyway because I wake up about every two or three hours. Every weird or loud noise in the neighborhood wakes me up. I put in for assistance with the power bill. The problem is that my application is still in the works. I don't know if they will get it processed before July 16. If they don't, I don't know what I'll do because right now I don't have the $57.00 in the bank that needs to be paid on or before next Tuesday. I keep thinking that everything will be alright. I hope that is true and not just wishful thinking. Right now the only thing I can do is keep plugging away and praying. |

PROMPT: July 9th - Respond to a current news story with your opinion. Share a link to the story if possible. "Wealthy nations shipped toxic waste to Indonesia. Now Indonesia is sending it back" https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2019/07/09/toxic-waste-hong-kong-france-ship... It doesn't surprise me that wealthy nations are using poor nations as their dumping ground for hazardous and plastic waste. The U.S. France, Germany, Hong Kong, and Austria (just to name a few) appear to care about the planet, and apparently they do, as long as they can ship their toxic and hazardous waste to place like Indonesia. We, humanity, are living on a rock that orbits an insignificant star close to the edge of the Milky Way. Ocean water and air circulate around the planet, carrying waste and pollution from one nation to another. Landfills, with toxic waste, in any part of the planet reveals our disrespect for the planet and for our fellow human beings. Part of the problem is lack of acceptance of the oneness of humanity, which is proven by the human genome. Another part of the problem is that wealthy nations, and many rich individuals, care only for the bottom line without considering how the rest of the world, especially the poor, are affected. |

PROMPT: July 8th - What fictional character do you admire? What specific characteristics do they possess that make them attractive? I've never given much thought to which fictional characters I admire. I admire female characters who know what and will go for it. I admire male characters who treat the woman in the story as equals rather than objects, and show respect for them. I used to read fiction as an escape, now when I read its to review on writing.com and I pay more attention to the characters and the plot.
Day 2027: What kinds of meanings does the word “stuff” hold for you? Can you think more meanings of it than what’s in the dictionary? Stuff is stuff. This is a term I use when referring to a collection of different objects that don't normally go together, but are pilled on a desk or some other piece of furniture. I also use it to refer to miscellaneous items that I'm looking at and someone says "What are you looking at?" My response is "Stuff". Speaking of stuff, I need to clean the stuff off my computer desk so that I can see the top of the desk.
DAY 2423: "I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars." ~ Og Mandino Let this quote inspire you blog entry. Some Thoughts on Light and Darkness Light cast shadows, darkness cast nothing, you can determine the brightness of the light by how deep and dark the shadow it casts. |

PROMPT: July 7th - It’s the Sunday News! Reflect on the first week of July. Are you on track to meet you goals? What are your plans for the rest of the month? The first week of July, like the first week of every month since January 2019 was stressful and interesting. My brother, Tom, who lives in Colorado begin the first round of chemo therapy. I and my other two siblings been getting text updates from him on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. His doctors are hopeful because the type of cancer he has apparently response to chemo therapy. My main goal this year is writing 200 poems to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Birth of the Bab, which will be celebrated on October 29. As of today, I finished 28 poems, and have 172 left to write in 114 days. I have two more in the works. I expect to finish all 200 by the October deadline. That about all for now. |

PROMPT: July 6th - Make a list of five things you wish you could be a master of. Be sure to explain why you chose what you did. List Can I list money five times? Alright, all joking aside let me see if I can think of five things that I want to be master of. Of late, I've felt that I'm not the mast of anything, except perhaps disaster. However, after the earthquake we felt last night, I realize I'm not even the master of disaster. It wasn't a big earthquake, just enough to cause the ground and buildings to move a little. I was sitting in my walking, and it swayed a bit with the floor. My imagination. I would like to be able to focus it more on writing rather then the vain imaginings of what might happen in my life in the near future. My emotions. Specifically the depression that tends to rear its ugly little head in moments of personal crisis, both real and imagined. Money. I want enough money to pay the bills, without worrying about whether or not the power company is going to turn the electricity off. Without having to put off paying one bill so I can pay another that is equally important, and has became urgent. Sleep. I would like to be able to go to sleep within five or ten minutes and sleep for, at least, five hours without waking up every hour or so. I would like to be able to do this without going to the doctor for medication. At 72, I already take several medications, and I don't need any more. Language. I want the ability to speak any language on earth by just hearing it spoken by someone else.
DAY 2421: Creative Saturday Word Prompt: summer, roses, Full Buck Moon, efflorescence, ruby, aroma, tree. Under the Full Buck Moon Under the Full Buck Moon the roses of summer bloom spreading the efflorescence of their ruby beauty through city gardens and verdant tree lined lanes, while scenting the air with the aroma of rain.
Day 2025: Prompt “As the images unwind Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind” Prose, poem, or story: How do the song or the windmills of your own mind affect and inspire you? Windmills The windmills of my mind keep burning, I keep learning, the waters of my imagination keeps churning, and the millstone of my thoughts keep grinding out odes the the All-Glorious Lord and the expanding universe of knowledge. |

PROMPT: July 5th - What did you dream about doing as an adult when you were little? Have you been able to achieve any of your childhood dreams? Share a fact about your life now that you never imagined would come true. Dreams of Youth The dreams of youth pass, become ghosts in the dusty halls of memory. Ghosts that rise to become plots and characters in short stories or novels. Rise to become themes and subject, similes or metaphors in poetry or prose. |
Istijlál (Majesty), 10 Rahmat (Mercy) 176 B.E. - Thursday, July 4, 2019
PROMPT: July 4th - Write about independence. "With independence comes responsibility, and with freedom comes even more responsibility!" Author Unknown The Cambridge Dictionary gives four definitions Independence two of which are (1) "freedom from being governed or ruled by another country" and (2) "the ability to live your life without being helped or influenced by other people".3 The other two definitions are similar to those above. The Cambridge Dictionary gives several definitions of freedom, one of which is concerned more with American History (see the Bill of Rights) than freedom itself. Freedom is defined as (1) "the condition or right of being able or allowed to do whatever you want to, without being controlled or limited" and (2) "Freedom is also the state of not being in prison or in the condition of slavery (= condition of being legally owned by someone else)."4 One of the problems in America today, is that people appear to confuse and even merge the definitions of independence and freedom. America's independence comes from the fact that we aren't governed by another country, but (traditionally) by ourselves, the citizens of America. No person in America or any other country is truly free because we are dependent upon each other rather than our own selves. This interdependence requires each individual in America to take responsibility for their own actions, so that they don't overstep the bonds that living in an independent country, with other human beings, requires. What is your go-to dish to bring to a potluck? Does your family have any traditional recipes? (In Hawaii, these appetizers are called “pupus” ) It's been a few years since I attended a potluck. When I went, I normally made jello salad of some type or Spanish rice. Today, if I were to attend a potluck I'd probably purchase a salad or something in a grocery store. If I couldn't get to a grocery store the next option is to open a can of fruit, put it in a container, and take that. I could also make a bean salad because I have several different types of canned beans, which make a great bean salad. With canned beans all you have to do is open the cans, drain the liquid, and add some spices. I don't know what type of spices I have, but I'm sure I could figure out something. |

Write about something mysterious. Is the mystery ongoing, or has it been resolved? The Mystery "People think of science as rolling back the mystery of God. I look at science as slowly creeping toward the mystery of God." Allan Hamilton As human knowledge expands, The Mystery expands outward, upward, downward, penetrating the heart of the atom or descending over the event horizon of a black hole. Humanity lives in an expanding universe of questions, that lead to answers, that lead to more questions... on and on into infinity where The Mystery dwells. Call The Mystery what you will our human labels reveal more about ourselves then The Mystery. |

It’s summer here in the US, the perfect season for a road trip! In your blog today, plan your ideal road trip. Where would you go and who would you go with? Road Trip to Area 51 A few years ago, when I was still driving I saw the statues of a green extraterrestrial in the back of a red Ford pickup. The extraterrestrial was setting behind what appeared to be a World War II machine gun. The sign on back of the pickup read Area 51 This is a restricted area DO NOT ENTER If I'm going on a road trip, I think I'd like to go to Area 51, so that I could drive down the Extraterrestrial Highway (Hwy 375) and stop at the Little A'Le'Inn . Who would I go with? Anyone who had a car and wanted to go with me. I don't drive any long, so I have to go with other people with cars or some other means of transportation. Just for the record, I consider a Harley-Davidson an acceptable means of transportation. I have no problem providing gas, if someone wants to accompany me. |
