WOW! What you've said is so true and I'm sure you're being incredibly sarcastic in alot of this! I have four children and am scared to death at what the future society holds for them. I am a Christian and am trying to instill decent morals and values - it's hard with so much contradicting what I'm telling them - especially when its other people close to them. God help us all!
It's amazing how much we take life for granted - especially as a child. When you're young, you feel like you have all the time in the world, and before you even realize it, your childhood is gone and your consumed by the often harsh reality of "adulthood"; But, as an adult, and with four beautiful children to inspire me - I pursue innocence and dreams and laughter and hope! It's never too late to find the "kid" in you again!

This is a very well written poem! I feel, after having read it, that I myself need to take time to cry. It is not healthy hold pains inside - they can consume you before you even realize what's happening! I am currently working on a book and have posted journal entries to do just that - provide a form of release from a painful past. This brought tears to my eyes - what a beautiful and inspiring poem! Though the loss has been great, the acceptance of a better life, without fear or pain is bringing comfort, as well as the knowledge of seeing loved ones again in Heaven! How incredibally beautiful!
A well written poem about the cruel reality that love can hold. This person's soul mate is obviously tortorous to the soul, but vital as well! Great work! I'm not sure, but I think you may have a misspelling -

I have enjoyed reading your story! How creative and what beautifully detailed descriptions. You have given a vivid look into the "secret place" which I am glad to have visited through your story. Climbing the "fool's mountain" is something I have done many times myself. Haven't we all? I love that you added humor into your story and that the "secret place" was in fact within. The only suggestion that I have, which is a very humble one as I am an amateur writer and still learning so much - is that your character may have a brief encounter with the spirits, some kind of visual and internal experience, before receiving their quick dismissal. Perhaps your character's view of how the spirits would help him - possibly enhancing the idea of him expecting more than they are created to give! Once again - wonderfully written and compelling to read!!!
