Review of CLICKETY CLACK

Just read you poem, very well written.

Your poem reminded me of all the train derailments of late, around the world.
The most recent one, in Alberta Canada, this past week. A school bus loaded with rural children from the ages of 5 years old to teen. Little 5 year old in serious condition 6 more of various ages, hurt.

We are trained to buckle up our children in automobiles but no seat belts on passenger trains or public buses.
How nuts is that? How safe is that? It just doesn't make sense!

Hello, One Hand Writer.
We writers, whether physically challenged or not, must pursue our desire to write,
if we are to succeed in accomplishing our dream goals.
I wish you much success in your endeavour!

I would like to comment on the Sari Dress, it is like all immigrant'a dressing, that have landed on the shores of North America, from 1700 hundreds to present day, the custom clothing from many countries of the world have preserved their homeland dress in traditional wear, for ceremnonial purpose or in dance or theater work. Young women from all these countries protested to wear their traditional clothing for everyday use and treat, the heritage dresses of former immigrants for such purposes as ceremonial attire. After all this is North American the land of the free. Not wearing a sari but keeping it as tradition, is what people have done in the past, after all immigrants and their children are not in there home land anymore.
The only ones that wear their heritage dresses for everyday are the Huderites whom reside in North America as this is part of their religous beliefs.

I loved your poem of the old, with standing the trials of mother nature and an old levi system. Wella the old Streetcars survived with dedicated, hands and hearts, to get them runnin' again. That is fantastic!

Yes I agree being a half century young, is wonderful. Just think half a century past, when most did not survive, a quarter of century. Lucky we are whom have arrived and excited to carry on, hoping to at least surpass a three quarters of a century old.

Being from a country that familiar with USA educational terms, I found it difficult to read all the abbreviations in your writing. First I tried to make sense of the abbrieviations but gave up. This is the reason why I gave you an average score. I found your story interesting, as your choice in a male dominated field. I know the chauvinistic attitudes well, as my daughter chose a similar path in a male donimated work related field. I used to say to her no sense getting mad - get even, then you will get some statisfaction.

Great free verse poem. I especially liked your descriptive choices of words. How true, in your last phrase the " man is naught, if not an artist."
If it is in one's destiny to be an artist, then creative thoughts, printed so cleverly will come to be in the test of time.

Isn't it something a child's imagination? One point of another view, in your last sentence. You could drop the word day [ as most relate Christmas Morning as the beginning of Christmas day]. Just a wee suggestion.

Review of I Love America!

Hello J. A. Buxton!
This is my first time I have read a piece of your work. I have been lately hitting the random button, more and more often, thus this writing came up of yours. I hale from across the US border in North America.

Canada is my home land. I do agree with many of your statements in regards to women's rights, in the workplace and the personal financial sector. It is amazing that most women hold a family together, whom hold the family purse.

I was amazed at the run around I got from the banking world, in regards to a single female parent, inquiring about a mortgage. My time happened ten years later in the early 80's. I was refused by the main banking institutions, went through a mortgage broker.

I was trained on the IBM computer monstrousity by the Unemployment Insurance program in the the early 1970's. Today the big goverment computers are becoming obsolete because the only people that know how to run them are retiring. So there is big concern about big expensive outlay to refurbish the huge beastly computers with today's technology.

The large car companies, are now realizing, women hold the key to the major buying power in the family. Married Men's motto recently I have heard
Have a happy wife = have happy life. ........ . Sooo true!
Once was in Sears department store inquiring about a rug shampooer I had recently bought - the dumb salesman - " I think you should send your husband in for this type of question." I retorted " Oh, really! Great shall I go to the graveyard and dig him up?"
Many times in the 70's / 80's in a hardware store - Same old answer, shouldn't you send your husband in with type of question? It was a very irritating response.

Since I was raised by a single parent father in my teen years whom, new nothing about home maintenance. You see my mother did all that stuff and I learnt how to do many DIY projects from her in the late 50's. My mother died when I was 13 yrs old and thus carried on with her insight, for home repairs, while living with my father.
One castrophe I did not know what to do? I accidently dropped a bottle of Noxema into the toilet. Which split the toilet bowl apart, water was gushing everywhere! At least my dad knew where to shut off the water supply! Course we went a week with not toilet, till a plumber came out to replace the broken one!
See I ramble on too! 8 - {

What a wonderful adventure, the chore turned out to be! Best of all your grandfather, is adjusting in his new surroundings, with his memorabilia of his beloved past. Most importantly, a friendship was born with your grandfather. I hope you have many outings, with your grandfather, that you can savour and hold dear into your future. You truly deserve a 5.0 rating!

Hello to everyone! I was a member of WDC a couple years ago. I had problems logging in under my other ID so decided to start fresh with a new ID. My computer died and lost all my creative written work. Enough of my woes.

I like to write for pleasure, writing also helps keep me out of the fridge! I loose all sense of time when writing. At present I am trying to write a book of a true story, but some of the areas are fiction as the story covers a 55 year span. I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories.
Cheers to all, have a super weekend ~ decora!
