A very nice trick to get a promotion. Although in dream, the dreamer must have found it enjoyable to get promoted.

A very perfect statement stated exceedingly well. As you have rightly said, why should one try to change oneself to please others. Everyone is unique in a specific way and that is how it should be. We should respect ourselves the way we are and not carried away by others' thoughts and ideas. Better enjoy being what you are.

It reads like a love story. And most people who love the see the happy ending like "They lived happily for ever" will like this poem. In just twelve lines, a beautiful story is narrated in very entertaining language.

Very well said. Empires rise and empires fall together with Emperors and Empresses. So do kingdoms. Although they are lost, the memory of their existence once continue to remain as history.

A nice poem giving simple prescriptions for leading a life of happiness. The poem dwells quite nicely how and where happiness can be found. It emphasises that one should make honest efforts to search for it. It says that even with the ups and downs of life, one can still find happiness, if only one tried.

Review of When I Was A Boy

The poem resounds with nostalgic memories of childhood. The carefree days of boyhood and the playful scenes come flashing when one finds himself alone and in a mood to retrospect. Having grown old, childhood thoughts come as an oasis in the hot desert enlivening the spirit of the person. The four last lines is truly touching.

The poem speaks in telling terms how the cat of the house is restless to see the one it loves greatly. The action that follows the opening of the door and the picture of the cat is vividly described. The cat behaves as though it had not seen him foe eons. The poem is a clear example of how a pet loves its owner.

Review of Never cure

The poem gives a clear hint of the noble profession which has degenerated to such an extent that greed to acquire wealth has taken hold of the practitioners of medicine. The great ideals with which they started the profession in the beginning are all forgotten and they have become totally materialistic-minded. The poem brings out this fact in telling terms.

Review of Moving Day
Review by Raghav R

Moving out of the home, city and away from the people known for a long time is always heart wrenching. It is more so when one leaves their parents, siblings and the affectionate extended family members. The poem clearly brings out the feelings experienced at the time of moving. But the resolve to be with one for life like many
known to her softens the pain of moving somewhat. It is not uncommon, but bringing the feelings in words is what made this poem interesting.

A nice touching story of affection and love between a doe and a buck, narrated through an interesting poem. Midway through the poem, I had a fear of what was going to happen to the buck with hunters on the look out for a trophy. Thank God both the doe and the buck escaped to enjoy their togetherness to my great relief.

Review of My mother !

A poem of tribute to one's mother. Mothers have always been the epitome of love and sacrifice. The poem dwells on how the writer derived strength and power through the efforts of her mother and how she is bounden to her for what she is now. It is a wonderful thought that drives her to say
" If I happen to born again,
I wish to be a mother to my mother
And shower her with the mother's love
that she missed and misses all her life.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on mothers.

Review of A Shattered Mask

When people want to hide their true self, they resort to wearing masks to delude others, but they forget that they cannot lie to their own hearts. It is driven by a desire to by appreciated by others, to make others envy by wearing a mask that shows them surpassing others, but at some time or the other the mask comes off revealing the truth. It is at that time remorse starts attacking the wearer. A nice narration on the effects of wearing masks and the resultant unhappiness.

The poem makes one think very deep. People in general take a liking to the superficial and never try to delve into understanding the hidden beauty. Nothing lasts for ever for us, born of flesh and blood; that with which we are born melts with the passage of time and everyone, whether endowed with beauty or not, end up in a similar fashion when the final call comes. The last two lines of the poem exactly tells the truth. A poem written very well and thought provoking.

Well and truly said. There are certain things beyond human comprehension and power. When the situation crosses all human efforts, as you have rightly said, 'ask the Lord for a solution'. Even the best doctors say, "We have done our best, and now we leave it to the Lord."

The pot bonds the living and the dead with an ethereal attachment and the pot reminds the granny's words and actions every day, sitting on the side board. The poem kindles the nostalgic memories of the past with interesting detail. It also shows how an inanimate object has the power to recall the unforgettable past.

Well said, my dear. Those who fight for us and are ready to give their lives must be respected. Their sacrifices should not go unheeded. If we live without fear and lead a comfortable life, it is on account of them and we owe them our gratitude.

Review of Time

The poems recalls to the mind the saying "Time and Tide wait for no man" No more or no less than 24 hours of a day and no ardent pleas for a change will avail. So unless one makes use of the time judiciously, he regrets the loss at leisure. There are phases of life how life is lived is shown in the last stanza of the poem.

The present generation lives under great pressure to keep the deadlines, to attain the levels marked to reach the higher echelons and commitments to be met and what not. They are so preoccupied that they have no time to think of anything other than their workaday life. Only when grown old, time is found to recapitulate the past and reminisce. The poem dwells on these aspects in simple and lively tones.

The poem is a fine reflection of how a mother feels about her girl child. She describes the child in vivid terms and goes on portraying how she will be in the years to come. She concludes the poem with an assurance that she will always be there to take care of her child. The poem shows the love and affection the mother has for her child.

It is very sad to know that the Native American Indians have become aliens in their own land and have dwindled in numbers. They have every right to feel aggrieved. To become aliens in their own land is heartbreaking. They may need to be classified as 'endangered species" and they must be protected at all costs. The poem very beautifully traces the history and the culmination.

Truly said. In the hurly-burly world which we have created and where we are compelled to spend our lives, it is difficult to find peace. Peace calls for a quiet and serene atmosphere; we can find it only far away from the noisy towns and cities. You have very rightly shown the places and environs where peace will dwell and can be found once again.

This piece takes me to my old days (my dob being 1939) when I used to handle a Kodak Camera (35 mm). I could never dream of a colour film as they were astronomically costly those days and I had to satisfy myself with black and white films. I used to develop the film myself, make prints on the enlarger assembled by me. Those were days of enjoyment for me. As you have rightly pointed out, the present day ease of photographing and the glut of photos has taken the charm out of photogrphy. A very nicely written piece which I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
