Why not one enjoy possessing the articles that enhance his standards and adds a pleasing look to his figure. In addition, it gives the wearer great satisfaction. It is certainly not an abnormal trait. Well said.

A nice and interesting story for children with a message of what happens when good advice is not heeded. Children will certainly find it enjoyable.

The following extract from the story very aptly sums up the situation. It tells in nutshell the substance of the story.

"Sadly What We Have Is Not What We Want, and Conversely What We Want Is Not What We Have!"

A true statement. It is how we feel sometimes when we look at things in retrospect.

For one who has to work and earn a living, severance is a bit disappointing and some may take it very seriously. The hunt for a new job is an ordeal and filled with lot of uncertainties, hopes and ambitions. A few days after lay off, sitting without much to do, may give the most needed break from the routine for a while, but then the urge to resume the accustomed activity comes up and starts haunting the person.

Beautifully written. The poem evokes nostalgia of leaving a house, lived in for a long time. The poem neatly captures each and every object and how it causes emotions to flow and the reluctance of the person to leave the place. There is a mixed feeling of sorry and uncertainty. A thoroughly enjoyable poem with full of feelings.

The poem truthfully creates eerie scenes and sounds of films which make the timid shiver in fright and make them close their eyes and ears. It is quite impressive and walks the imaginative reader through the labyrinths of the castle.

Dawns of each season evoke different feelings and sensations in people. Some brave the weather and enjoy the scenes of the dawn while some prefer to be back to the cocoon as you seem to. The poem gives an idea of what one can expect in the dawn of North California.

A very scary future. It is not a far-fetched idea. When Godzilla and King Kongs threaten cities and towns, Ethiopian baboons may well take over the space left by the two. Hope the discovery turns to be false and mankind is not in danger.

I agree one should love animals and keep them as pets. But when they turn carnivorous and start eating the keeper, it would not do. Train it to become a vegetarian and both will be happy. An interesting, jolly poem.

A poem written in simple and interesting style about a dog, dead and gone, but whose memory still lives on.

Review of Almost Perfect

A tale ending in disappointment for one who had been full of joy in anticipation of a perfect day - a much awaited date with the boyfriend. The story starts with all the happy thoughts and moods of the heroine only to end in utter disappoinment at the deceit of the boyfriend. Makes the reader feel extremely sorry for the heroine who has suffered at the hands of one most trusted.

First I note the fact that it is not a true story.

It is what happens when we speak before we think. Words flow in torrents and they submerge the one against whom it is directed. It is what happens when people are agitated and and when easily get ignited. Once the words fly out of our mouths, they cannot be recalled. We realise this truth when the heat subsides and when calmness returns. The damage can be repaired by acknowledging our guilt and trying to mend the broken relationship. Possibly we may succeed in our efforts, but the same intensity does not return to the relationship. This is what has been observed and felt.

While the real scarecrow does its work of frightening the birds and keep them at bay, this cartwheeling scarecrow did a nice job of whisking all the treat leaving those who were waiting to enjoy in a quandary. An interesting piece of poem.

Review of Sweet Dreams

Sometimes it is a pleasant experience to daydream. As you have narrated, the dreamer is taken to a new world where everything is the way he dreamt while awake. And more importantly, when he comes out of the daydream, he feels fresh and ready, again as you have rightly pointed out, to face the day waiting for him. An enjoyable piece of writing.

A factual statement. Probably it is the way of the world. The last stanza is most endearing to me. It stands out for the 'forget and forgive' maxim.

Review of Childhood Moment

It is the beauty of childhood. Their joy and happiness arise from being unaffected by outside influences which control the hearts of grown ups. They saw things as they are and take them at face value since they don't have any prejudices. This piece gives a good glimpse of how childhood is enjoyable.

What a lot of excuses for not going to sleep. You have summarized the whole lot of them very well. Most of these excuses I have also heard from my grandchildren and it is nice to see someone else also experiencing similar excuses. I think the world over children are the same. Nice experience to read them.

The poem beautifully demonstrates the feelings of love shared and creates an atmosphere where love spreads its wings and takes the lovers to a higher plane of happiness. The poem gives a clear image of the feelings in words.

A very interesting read. Surely it would have been very upsetting for the parents to see someone who is meant for higher positions to take up the job of garbage collector. But no job is demeaning. In fact if there were no garbage collectors or Sanitation Engineers as they are designated later, the city, or towns or why the whole world would become a stinking pot. It becomes obvious when they resort to strike even for a day or two. Garbage Collectors need to be respected like persons holding any other white collared jobs.

Review of KILLING A SPIDER

Although he wanted the spider dead, he could not imagine killing it by the same means used by James. It seemed appalling to him and the spider was really to escape such a death.

It is something like a trailer of movie showing what is to come
later in full legnth; the scene at night has played likewise out its role. Can we call it "A dream come true"?

As a child I used to be told several stories about ghosts and their ghostly deeds to frighten me from moving alone after dark. I fully observed their orders until I grew up to read ghost stories and watch horror movies. Many of them were gruesome and bloodcurdling. Thank God, all the four stories of yours haven't shed gore and made the victims Draculas. Quite interesting to read the various episodes.
