I enjoyed reading your essay on respect and agree with all of the points you have to support your piece. I would suggest that you tighten up the second sentence in the first paragraph, add a thesis statement that includes your points, and a conculsion paragraph at the end to better tie up the piece.

This is a very heartfelt poem of heartbreak. I could feel the emotion as I read this piece. This poem has good flow and a clear cut rhyme scheme. The last stanza was my favorite because it points out that love/life often comes with a price.

This parody of "Silver Bells" was so cute and funny. The imagery is good in this piece because I can picture people and children all around while annoying bells are ringing without an end in sight. I also liked how you saved the ringing bells until the end of each stanza to give the poem good flow.

This Christmas parody is very funny too. The first stanza made me think of when my father would be so gun-ho on taking down the decorations right after Christmas, and the last stanza reminded me of my brother when he was a child wired on sweets and waiting for santa. This is a hilarious parody of Burl Ives' "Have a Jolly Christmas". I can totally relate to being tired of having to wear phony grins and attending Christmas gatherings that I rather not attend. You have a good opening line. The second line gives a hook, but where's the rest. If you want to keep this short with mystery, turn it into a poem. I think it would work better that way, then you can let the reader guess the rest, that is common in poetry.

I liked the imagery of this piece. The isolationism in this piece reminded me of many HP Lovecraft stories. I also thought of a movie called The Neverending Story while reading this. There was a character called the Nothing that sounds a little like the one in this poem.
