This poem feels light and airy to me, yet there is a pathos communicated to me as a reader.
There is a feeling a distinct verses/stanzas as I read this poem, yet as I think about it, your choice not to divide this poem into verses communicates loss to me as a reader.
I really like this poem. Captures our cultural climate to a tee.
As a reader, the last line is the only one that didn't work for me...I found myself mentally playing with ways to turn the line into a statement--such as: "Americans starve for acceptance" or "Why Americans starve for acceptance"
The way you have it may communicate exactly what you want to communicate; just sharing my musings...This is definitely a poem that both entertains and makes the reader ponder...
