[Embed For Use By Upgraded+] So yes, it's no secret I'm a gamer. In my last blog entry, I mentioned a game called Aion in my comment. Since some of you may not know what it is, here's a short (and not very extensive... hmm...) trailer for the game. Obviously, this is an MMORPG (Massive Multi-player Online Role Playing Game). I'm really hoping that it will live up to its hype. So far, I've been in a few of the closed betas.... and definitely enjoyed it.  It's got some interesting features such as "Chain" skills and wings. Next blog post... I may put up a video that shows the actual gameplay, that or character customization. Enjoy!*Wonders if she's the only one on this site playing MMOs....  * |
| I am SO FREAKING MAD. I'm sleeping all nice and soundly... and then my boyfriend starts calling. He kept calling, over and over, five times in a row, so I finally picked up. The news I got wasn't exactly something I wanted to hear while half awake. Apparently, Blizzard Entertainment permanently BANNED his World of Warcraft account. FOR NO REASON. They said he was using a 3rd party client to gain an unfair advantage and cheat in the game. Now HOW could this have happened? We only played thirty minutes in two weeks. And I know for a fact that he hasn't used anything illegal. Well, needless to say I was upset. I started crying because I just couldn't stop thinking about how Jamie was feeling... (especially since I snapped at him when I first picked up the phone). I mean, he spent two years playing that game. I did too, though, a little bit longer than that. He could have sold his account for at least $200, or he could have given his items to my sister, who still plays WoW. (I quit). So yeah.... there's little hope that they'll give him his account back too. Apparently, Blizzard has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. They're known for randomly banning people for no reason, just like what has happened to Jamie. I'm quitting WoW for good now. No reason to play that game when I know for sure that my sweetie can't play with me. I only wish we'd have been able to quit in a "nicer" way. Now to head onto WoW and give my sister all my crap. Can't even stand to look at WoW without getting teary eyed... I'm so upset. (Geez, I think I'm more upset than Jamie... maybe it's because I was woken up with the news?). Sigh. Hugs to all, -Neko |
Nerve wracking. I was so anxious and nervous today... and messed up a few times. I'll tell more about it later, but in the mean time here's a poem I wrote to try and calm myself down...
It sucks, I know. But oh well. You guys will just have to bare with it. God, please let the day be over soon. The stress is killing me every time the darned phone rings. (I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack!  )I actually should have been done 7 minutes ago, but it seems Dad is staying a little late... Ugh. |

There are a lot of good & unique entries this round. I also entered, though, I'm not sure how well I'll do. I have to admit, I've not been very confident about my poetry lately. | Wow. My boyfriend is making me watch Pokemon the first movie with him. I'm speechless. I mean, I loved the movie when it first came out and when I was like 10, but... yeah. Isn't my boyfriend adorable?  Sorry for the random blog post, rofl. |
| Ugh... I slept all day yesterday, literally. I didn't even wake up till 3/4AM. And now I'm feeling extremely sick, weak, etc.... coughing up... well... you don't want to know. So yeah, I think I'm sick. But I have a fear of doctors... so I think I'll wait it out. You see, every time I go to my doctor she thinks I'm depressed. And hey, sometimes I am, but not always and usually not when I go to see her. She suggested I see a psychiatrist once JUST because I get sick often. (In other words, she thought I was faking... Lol.). However, how could I be faking when the tests come up positive for mono and all that jazz? I just have to wonder. I have a favor to ask of anyone who actually reads this random blog. My best friend, Mari, is running a Signature Auction at the moment. I'd like to see her get in a few bids early on, and I'd really like it to be a success. She's put a lot of work into the images, and the proceeds are for "The WDC Angel Army"  and " Need Help With An Upgrade???" (as well as her own membership). Also, each image has a hidden prize beneath it... so you're not only getting a wonderful signature, but maybe even GPs, a Merit Badge, an Awardicon, or some reviews.Here's a link if you're interested:

| Remember the ABN July entries I mentioned a few blog posts back? Well, I'm going to link the story from here... I'm really proud of it. I can tell I've improved. For some reason, I was able to connect with my characters more in this short story. (I'm usually not very good at short stories... I really should try writing them more often to get some more experience.) Here's a link to it:

| I'm so tired of the darned "Yellow Case" debate going on. Some people are genuinely being nice, and trying to discuss the topics at hand... but it seems like some people think only they are right (and it's their way or the highway). Thus... people get a little rude, etc, and all the discussion goes down the drain. I'm all for expressing opinions, but when you step on people and shove your opinion in their face well... that's where I draw the line. I'm tired of people creating "divisions" when I have NEVER seen any in my entire time on WDC (until the recent forums popping up)... and I'd like to consider myself pretty active. If anything, I feel discriminated against as a yellow case... it's like my opinion didn't matter when I brought it forth. So I gave up. I said what I needed to say, but I'll continue to read others posts (and just comment to MYSELF about it). There's no need to put myself through rudeness and hostility. I wish people would just consider though... that this site is SM and SMs BUSINESS. They run it. They have the ultimate say in what happens around here. And though some people think they're ignoring the "call for change", I know they haven't. They've considered the alternatives, etc, and weighed crap out... and well, I'm guessing that what we have currently is the best we're going to get. Unless EVERYONE on this site decides to leave (which I seriously doubt will happen), things are going to stay the way they are. (Not because people are SCARED.... seriously, why would they be scared? They can go to a different site if they need to. It's not as if WDC is the only writing site available.  No, I think the majority of us are not leaving because we ENJOY it here. We're happy with the way things are. We've found our home, settled in it... and though there may be some quirks about it, we're staying.)As for the issue on people KISSING up to get their promotions, I haven't seen this at all. I didn't even get my own promotion till 2008, which was a while after I joined. (Thus, another indicator that the long term members have NOT been forgotten). I got my promotion through writing, reviewing (lots... and generally detailed), activity (no, not running contests/auctions), and helping other members around the site. (That's another thing that gets me... people saying yellows NEVER help others. How is this true? I always try to help people when I see posts in the tech, non-tech, general... angel army forum... etc. Sometimes though, I choose to do it privately, with a simple email. I know some have pointed out CHAT as being a place this is happening; however, chat isn't for help. There are other forums for that. Chat is for people to relax and get to know each other. I don't think it's right to ignore someone either though.) I never "kissed up" to get my yellow case. As many have already mentioned, in the real world when you have a job, there are times when others get a promotion and you don't, even if you've worked twice as hard as them. Things aren't always fair. (I doubt there IS a way to make something absolutely fair). Okay, that's it for my tangent at the moment. I might discuss this subject more later if I feel like it; however, many have expressed their views (which I concur with) much better than I. Here's a few things for you guys to check out:

He's basically just saying, "Why stay if you aren't enjoying it?", because there ARE other writing sites out there.... and why force yourself to stay if you aren't genuinely enjoying the site? | I'm so confused now! In my last blog post I mentioned having an item's rating changed to 13+ because of the words "heterosexual" and "homosexual". However, I've just been informed that "gay", "lesbian", and "straight" would be acceptable as E term alternatives. (E??? not ASR???). I can't help but feel a little confused about this, since the words mean the same thing and the way I used it was the more scientific approach... and not in any way a reference to a sexual act. If homosexual/heterosexual are 13+, shouldn't gay/lesbian/straight be as well? They refer to the same thing: sexual orientation. The item itself that these words appeared in were about eating disorders, thus, no references to a sexual act were made. I can't help but be puzzled by this. Also, I never knew that an items ratings were locked forever after one mistake.... seems a little harsh, but I'll deal with it. *Sigh*Anyone have some thoughts on the gay/lesbian/straight vs homosexual/heterosexual? | My second rating change! Hip, hop, hooray. My oh my am I embarrassed. This time it was for my article "Invalid Item" ... Here's the brief: "Homosexual" and "heterosexual" (like any reference to sex other than gender) require a 13+ rating. I never knew that was a reference to sex... I guess it's just different peoples views on things. Well, mainly, I guess I wasn't thinking about it because of the way it was used in this article. What do you guys think about it?
