| nowrimo is over! so i am going to be writing soon! i have a new novel idea, and i finally figured out what to do with my last pen story ( thanks squee) i have a finished outline for it, woo. i am on a new project at work, which is nice, but it means i have moved to a new desk, which is not next to a window :( my poor plant. i've started watching Boardwalk Empire, and it's awesome! very good story and characters, and very addictive. im excited to get started writing! after last pen, i want to start thinking mainly about the novel, i think i may actually be able to get started this time! also this song has been popping into my head a lot for the past few days for some reason http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpw_tnqOeQ4 |
| thanksgiving was nice. i got to see my grandparents, and eat lots of good food. none of my siblings were there this year, so i got all the leftovers. i've already eaten them all.. ive spent most of today lazing around in bed, chatting. i took a break to play cards with some friends, then back to lazing and chatting. it's been nice :) i still have two more days off too. a nice long weekend. this is still no writing month for me. looks like its going to end up that way. i need some spark of an idea to start the flame. i hope it happens soon, i need something to be working on. my story was rejected from clarkesworld and asimov's, i've submitted it to lightspeed now. another one with quick response time. not sure where to go after that. i'll keep looking! i like this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UgrW5_5Oaw |
| well, thanksgiving this week. i get thursday and friday off as well as the weekend. with all that time you'd think i would be able to get some writing done! i hope i do. ive been watching lots of deep space 9, and playing skyrim.. not much else. ive got ideas floating around in my head though, waiting to be turned into words. the horrible screeching bird downstairs is moving out in a month. that's a relief. i still want to get a different place, with less room mates, but i dont feel as urgent about it anymore. i was thinking about getting a watch.. ive never worn one, but, im trying to dress more like a normal adult person, and i think thats what people do.. wear watches? im not really a fan of jewelry though.. watches are jewelry disguised as something useful its getting very much colder. i have ice on my windshield often. there are more leaves on the ground than in the trees. i spend all my time indoors laying in bed with my laptop watching shows and chatting, and trying to write. what a slow month. next year is going to be a good year though. |
| man, once i stop updating it's hard to get started again. ive been playing skyrim pretty much non stop for the past few days. it's way too fun. maybe i'll write some kind of fantasy story, i dont know if i know enough about the genre though. could be fun.. been having a little bit of novel ideas. so far my short shots idea is still dead. i've been writing.. something.. that only a certain person will see.. at least my fingers are moving though. i still want to move. there is still a bird downstairs that screeches randomly, and a guy with a ridiculously low voice that vibrates everywhere.. i just want quiet! but, i suppose i'll never be satisfied. its a nice place, compared to other places i've lived. all these people doing nano, and im just doing the nowri part, no writing, that is. i must write a story this month. idea tube.. get unstuck! |
| hi blog, it's been a while. How've you been? I've been alright. I wanted to know, how the hell is 'how've' not a real word? I've, we've, you've, who've, they've, are ok, but no what've, where've, how've. only nouns can have contractions with have? what's this!? and what about 'did'?... no 'how'd you do that?' or 'where'd you go?' english, you'd better catch up to how people speak! oh.. 'you'd' is alright.. we'd better remember all the rules they've set up, they'd get mad at us if we didn't. |
| i took today and yesterday off work to lay around in bed chatting and generally being lazy. i think i'll feel better tomorrow though. i got some editing done, and submitted a couple stories places... one of them to Asimov's... :-S ive got a sort of idea for the short shots this month.. not sure how i'll write it yet.. gotta let it swirl around in my brain some more first. i watched dali's movie, 'un chien andalou' which i'd never seen before. i didn't understand much of it, but it was interesting. i wonder how his mind worked, and what he meant by it. |
| curses. i'm getting ill again. maybe i'll just use up all my personal time and take the rest of the week off. actually that would only use up about half of it. and i do need to use it anyway, if i'm going to be getting a new job... which i want to apply for by beginning of next year at least.. so, hopefully i am better by monday, when i am going to see Puscifer. that's almost a week though, so i hope ive kicked it by then. and also i just found out that holy shit my story for the throwdown was an editors pick in the drama newsletter :O |
| well i somehow did it, i got the last pen story done. maybe i'm starting to get faster at writing. went to a halloween party at the redhook brewery last night. i put on some lazy makeup. my friend won 'scariest costume' with her chucky, from child's play costume. she got a tap handle, i'm jelly. i napped a lot today, and ordered pizza. yay sundays. |
| I have finished my story for the throwdown! it is here http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/1821392-Palindrome took me most of the month to get it done, so i am feeling like i probably wont get anything for last pen, but i'll make an attempt. there was some terrible smell in the office yesterday, like sulfur kind of. it got so strong that they sent everyone outside to make sure it wasn't something dangerous. after standing outside for half an hour or so, i took an extended lunch. never heard what it was, but it was gone when i got back. weird. i forgot to water my dinosaur plant for several weeks. good thing it can go years without water. i knew that would come in handy. i'm feeling very distracted at work today |
| i got a new coat. it's wool, and very comfortable. My car got hit by someone in the parking lot while i was at the mall, but my car is already such a piece of crap that i dont think i want to deal with getting the dent fixed. but a part of me wants to just in hope that the guys insurance costs go up. he was a real dick. i went to the water front and read a bit on sunday, watched the sunset and walked around in the cool air. had some bangers and mash at the irish pub there, and a couple pints of guinness. it was a really good day, even though i didn't talk to anyone the entire day, with the exception of the bartender, and email/im stuff. it's good to know that i have the ability to be happy alone, i might end up needing that skill. this weekend is halloween.. still no costume ideas. im going to be lame again, haha. got my ticket for whatever is going on at the brewery nearby. if they are selling tickets, it's gotta be something cool. im at around 3k words on my throwdown story, and i think im nearing the end! may even have time for a last pen story, woo! hope i can get a double dose of inspiration this month. |
