Now, down to the focus of my blog. *ponders and wrinkles brow* There is none.

I plan on talking about anything and everything that is wierd and happens to cross my mind at the time. Some moments may seem pretty sane, but they will quickly be interrupted by things much less normal, things that may make you cringe, clamp your jaw tight and make sure your belt buckle is still cinched.

Anyway, on with the ... ramblings. *Laugh*

Well, I got my first story rejection yesterday in e-mail. *Smile*

Actually I figured I had a tight chance of getting published to begin with. I had submitted a story a couple months ago to a contest. The ones selected in the contest would end up published in an annual anthology.

Yeah, I know it sounds like it may have something fishy going on or that I would probably end up losing all rights to my story, but that was not the case. Their rules and submission info was very clear about all that stuff. So, I decided to submit my story.

Final decisions on who would make it into the anthology were due no later than December 31st, so I also knew I had a while to wait just in case I did make it in.

The e-mail I got yesterday was what I figured at first, a rejection, but it also contained a few really encouraging things. First, it stated that my story was good and that it had a strong voice. Second, it had some directions to others who may be more interested in my story and who my story would probably fit better. And third, the e-mail was from the owner and founder of the publishing company. I know the place is probably not the biggest, but Cecilia Tan has made a strong impact on the erotic fiction genres by making a company specializing in erotica centered around sci-fi and fantasy themes.

Now on to the reason I was not picked for the anthology. The story I sent in, Tan stated, did not have enough sexual situations for its length. I can understand that. I knew I may be pushing that a little when I sent the story in, that it may not have enough sex in it, but wanted to try anyway.

The last thing in the e-mail was that I should plan on submitting a story for next year's contest. That is something I plan on doing, and yup, it will have a whole lot more sex in it. *Wink*

Now I think I am going to track down those leads for submitting my fairy tale again. *Bigsmile*

I think I am on a roll again.

Hopefully it is not too squishy of a roll. *Laugh*

I had a good day today, went to church and then had my brother over for a few hours. We cooked up some sausages and I bought an apple pie at the grocery. Mmmm... Lunch was very good.

After that I planned on doing some writing, but my brain feels like mush so didn't do anything else beside watch a couple movies. I also have some images I need to get done and have some ideas brewing for them, so will get them done soon.

The movies I watched were a couple of the ones I really like. The first was Waking Ned Devine about a small village in Ireland where one of the people in town wins the lottery. It is somewhat a comedy and a little bit drama.

The other movie was The Matchmaker which is also about a small Irish village. But this one is somewhat a romance. And, yup, it is one that gives me that romancy, fuzzy feeling inside. It's one of those movies that can get me in that longing feeling.

Well, I am signing off my blog for the night and hopefully will be back here again tomorrow for another post.

I smell a bit like the outdoors at the moment. *Laugh*

I decided I needed to do something with the coating of leaves on my front yard. *cringes at the thought of the back yard* So, I went out and raked them up today. I started around 10:30 this morning since I slept in, which in and of itself is odd for me. Normally I am up by 8:30. *shrugs*

Anyway, I decided to rake the leaves and just finished up around 3pm. That took a long time to do just the front yard and the back yard is one and a half times the size of the front, plus the back has the big tree in it. *cringes*

I went slower than I probably could have to rake but I wanted to be able to get the job done and not kill myself doing it. Well, it sort of worked. I am now really stiff and my hands are all scratched up. Oh, and I smell a bit leafy. *Laugh*

Maybe I will see if I can use some food to convince a couple of the youth group kids to give me a hand with the back yard. *Laugh* Food always does it. *Wink*

Hmmm... Right now, though, I think I could really go for a Lush bath and a good massage. Too bad I don't have any Lush stuff in the house and I don't have anyone near who would want to give a full body massage.

*shrugs* Oh, well... That was my day today.

I am scribbling again. It is a nice thing to have happening. *Smile*

Last night I got working on a new story for the first time in a couple months. I had it floating around in my head for weeks now but just didn have the motivation or didn't push myself to sit down and work on it. So, last night I set myself a reward for if I did enough work on it to satisfy my writing self.

Well, I did get a bunch of notes written down and think I have the characters thought out enough. I also have the events of the story itself working themselves out in my head.

So... I treated myself to a nice reward. *Smile*

*many, huge hugs to my inspiration also* Thank you for all your encouragement! *Bigsmile*

There was a little, green inchworm. He was a happy, little, green inchworm, munching leaves at the top of his favorite tree. The tree was tall and broad, with branches that seemed to reach on forever, at least in an inchworm sort of forever.

One day, while munching leaves and catching rays from the bright sun, this little, green inchworm decided to see just how far and inchworm could inch along the tallest and longest of the swaying branches. He climbed and stretched. Over and over he she would inch his way along the rough bark of his home, moving ever upward and ever out from where he started.

The day was moving along, the sun climbing further, and yet the inchworm moved in his funny, little inchworm manner. Scrunch then stretch, scrunch then stretch, was how he moved.

Further and further he climbed but he soon saw the tree was much larger than he first imagined. The tiny inchworm moved on, following the lined in the bark as the branch he was on narrowed. Off to one side he would pass a smaller branch, then off to the other he would pass another.

This went on for a long time, as an inchworm would call it, until he reached a tuft of leaves. The tiny inchworm stretched out but felt no more branch. He stretched and stretched, this way and that, and yet found no branch to continue down.

Then he thought, "Is this the end of the world? There must be more than just branches and leaves. Where does the sun come from, and what about rain? Does it come from another place?"

He curled up to think on this and plot out his next move.

"If there's something beyond the tree, I must find out what it is."

to be continued...

I guess I am a groundhog... *Confused*

Groundhogs are cuddly-looking and timid mammals that eat mostly grass, seeds, and other vegetation. As a groundhog you will rarely stray far from your burrow and will run in the face of danger, but you will defend their home fiercely from predators. Groundhogs are even given their own holiday in the US, during which a groundhog is said to predict how long winter weather will last!

You were almost a: Duckling or a Chipmunk
You are least like a: Parakeet or a Squirrel

I was just snooping around in some friends' blogs and found another quiz to take and the above was my result.

Here is the quiz: http://www.cuteducky.com/

I found the link in kittiara's and novusfemina's blogs.

It was fun. *Smile*

So, what are you?

So, what is a SEVS-44936 EDS beta tester anyway?

For you to know that you will have to check out my latest addiction. It is a manga style webcomic titled MegaTokyo.

http://www.megatokyo.com

The comic is well written. It starts out just being a humourous thing then really takes off when the characters start to develope strong personalities.

Give it a chance and I bet it will grow on you. *Bigsmile*

Woohoo!!! I am at 3,000 port views right now!

I have no clue why this excites me but I am having a good laugh about it. *Laugh*

On another bright side, I am beginning to appear online when I am on the site. But the dark side of that is I appear online now when I am offline, for many, many hours. I logged out last night at 10pm and got an e-mail from someone who asked for help at 1:30am because they saw me online. Then I got an IM from another friend who thought I was online at 4am. *Confused* Maybe I will just go invisible and stay that way. I would know then why I appear offline when I am on and not appear online when I am off.
