Most of the giraffes are contentedly eating from trees or sleeping.
Seeing as giraffes eat from trees, your job is to make sure the trees are healthy.
So, picking up the ladder from the wall, you approach one of the trees. Propping the ladder up, you start to climb.
You reach a sturdy branch, and climb over to it. As you sit on the branch, you look up at the moon. Its full, with its light giving you a perfect view of the habitat. Well, you can't see below your tree, since it blocks the light, but you can see MOST of the habitat anyway...
You hear a rattling sound, and you just see the ladder fall away from the branch, and into the darkness below.
It was just the wind, you think. Then again, there isnt any wind. The air is still.
Then I must of knocked it, you think, getting a bit freaked out. Nope, you were a good three feet away from it.
You doubt anyone was in the habitat. You locked the door after you, and you would of seen anyone enter it with you.
Glancing down, you cant see any branches sturdy enough to take your weight. It would be foolhardy to try.
Well, you think, theres nothing for it.
You hold onto the branch until your're as low as you can get.
