A terminal for all blogs coming in or going out. A view into my life. |
Started July 1st 2019 for contests, etc. as other blogs are filling up and have other purposes. I'm starting a new blog because
I'll be linking to
I've started an appendix (I no longer have one personally) to keep track of my Space Cadet journals for Space Blog. It's a work constantly under construction. Mind the mess.
I needed to start a folder for contests as there are so many deadlines and details to remember.

7 septembre Noon... overslept... I did go to bed late but this is ridiculous. If I felt or knew that sleep would heal whatever ails me I would acquiesce. 69 degrees. 57 AQI. Stressed. Deadlines? Made two or three, blew the others off. I did talk to Julian today. That helps. I sat with Travis for an hour and jabbered. That helped. Plus, he gave me a hug. He's been gone for two months. I'll be glad that the Party ends tonight. I'm not a party person. I was able to give out a couple extra merit badges, entered two contests, completed one. Ate up leftovers. Found out that orange sparkling water goes good with coffee. Made hot carob with orange marmelade. It was an orange day. Now. Back to my newest Thai TV binge: "Boys for Rent". I told Stik: "I need to write about "the evils of democracy" someday. That will upset some folks. It's my intention to do so. That would come under historic trends. So would "death to dogma". " 8 septembre Clyde Cafe is now open. It's just 3 blocks away. Drip is $2. They serve food. I bought groceries. They are having a sale on potted meat: smoked ham, chicken, tuna. I'll need to go back and buy more. It's easier for me in the long run. One can = 2 to 4 servings. I only spent $11 but didn't want to carry more on my back. Progresso soup is also on sale. Bought ricotta and cottage cheese. Saw Don, Bob and Dalton. I'm a bit burnt out. No idea exactly why. Listless. 4 p.m., 84 degrees but pleasant and AQI is 60 so... I don't think that's the problem. Posted personal entry. Got 5 responses. Interesting. |
5 septembre AQ was poor overnight. 152 right now. A pleasant 67 degrees though. Napped yesterday so I went to bed very late and got up late. I have no plans today. Little to nothing I can take care of on a Labor Day weekend. Rent's paid. WDC is due end of October. Maybe I can resolve my eye issues? Using new computer. I'll probably leave it at home when/if I travel. ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ Cooked lentils and rice with chicken and added onion, garlic and paella spice. Very good. Also roasted half a buttercup squash. I told Apondia: "I try to be useful. The young travelers get it; but, people who know nothing but school and work might think I'm using up their oxygen and that I'm in the way. I wasn't good at practicing while young. Still not disciplined. In spite of all that I'm learning Thai... slowly... there is no rush. They can put ที่นี่มีผี (here lies a ghost) on my gravestone. It actually looks awesome! It has the same vowel throughout "tee-nee-mee-pee". I roasted buttercup squash with rosemary in my toaster oven today. I boiled rice and lentils with chicken and paella spices on the stove. If I didn't have either I know how to open a can. I haven't tried an air fryer but if I ever get to travel rural Isan a.k.a North-East Thailand (around Maha Sarakham) I may experience who-knows-what made who-knows-how. I'm looking forward to that." 6 septembre Day is already warming up. 67 @ 11 a.m. Very bad AQI @ 146. I do need to get some cleaning done but bad air and any heat make the chore much worse. Received a purty rainbow ribbon. Third place for "Sit next to the fire, as close as you dare [99] Soltices" . I don't normally write villanelles. 81 calm degrees at 7. It cleared up. AQI = 54. May dip into the high 40s tonight. More yellow on the trees. Quiet. posted in "Blogville " 4959 |
3 septembre Experience vs secondhand vs hearsay vs I-read-it-in-a-book vs I-heard-it-on-Fox-news vs Q-whispered-in-my-ear. Taliban of Texas and the failure of democracy: how men have decided that they have more rights to a woman's body than said female. Blessings: never to be 21 again. 364 days to celebrate my life but you need to focus on the one day I reserve for myself. If you really don't like me being here then maybe I should schedule my own euthanasia on that day to save space on my headstone. Born - Died month/day After a very chilly night with my fan on I now nurse a warm coffee and avocado toast. I need to recycle blog posts like "Summer Daze at The Shallot" and go back in time through L'aura's dusty layers! I decided to keep my Dell Inspiron. It has limitations... that I'll just have to deal with. Plus, I really need a Samsung S9 plus ... a.s.a.p. To Mike: "I have a stove, microwave, toaster-oven, toaster. I don't use the regular oven. I tend to eat whatever doesn't scurry away. The avocado was toast today. I don't eat out in restaurants except when traveling. I used to hang out in cafés. I'll grab something at our Saturday market." 4 septembre 68 degrees at noon. Went to market got some Greek custard pie, green beans (as a consolation because they didn't have my favorite malon, Sinful, and ate a blueberry pastry made by Irina. I chatted with Tootie about covid; she sells fragrances. On the way to Butterfly Herbs I stopped to say hello to a woman washing windows. Agnes is 87, grew up in Humphreys, Minnesota. We talked about baking bread. Now I'm waiting for my salted caramel milkshake while listening to Nessum Dorme from Turondot. I'm doing okay today. Found a website with a Thai keyboard (there are two types). There are no capital letters in Thai so 'shift' just gives diffrent characters. I'll need to choose one because the letters aren't in the same place. I can type from my regular keyboard. For instance 'i' gives me the letter 'r': and 'd' gives me 'k'. ผมรักคุณ (P̄hm rạk khuṇ) is spelled 'z,iyd86i' The two 'i' are different (found on different screens). It means 'I love you'. To Harlow Flick: "...some gun owners would have personal pocket nuclear grenades if they were allowed. Too bad they don't make the connection that guns are useless if they don't kill. So why have one if you don't intend to kill someone?" To Eric: "There's so much trauma in all of our lives, some big and some small, that accumulate over time until happiness becomes as elusive as trying to nail jello to a tree." |
SEPTEMBER 1 Resolved? Talking to Dillon: answer to my dilemma may be Samsung 9S plus. I think these were my August contest entries: "Cecilie" "Winter Roses" "We never asked her name [220]" "Rosemary for memory " "The Ayes have it [174] " "Unhappy endings [219]" I ran out of steam. I'm only happy with a couple of them. 58 degrees at 11am. Quite cold at dawn. I received 3 awardicons today: "Opening the garden ... of the heart [109] (36 lines)" in "Nurture your Nature" Share your faith "Rosemary for memory " Senior "Butterfly Herbs on the 22nd of May" Whatever It's grocery day. Walked to the store and bought groceries. Packpack was full and a bit heavy. Hard coming up the stairs. SEPTEMBER 2 This is the best I can do. Please email me if there's an issue and I'll explain. It may be even harder to parse than prose. I took out the space between words for a reason. The following is an approxiamate in Thai. Thai has no capitalization or punctuation. There is no space between words. There's only a space between phrases or sentences. This is how it normally looks! May be a puzzle to English speakers but it's actually easier to parse as vowels mark word boundaries and only certain consonant clusters are allowed. ทุ่ง the vowel is under 'th' and the low tone above. หญ้า too complicated for me to explain as I'm learning but ห cannot end a word; it marks 'h' or high tone. พัน two consonants, short vowel above the 'ph'. ดาว the vowel 'a' falls between two consonants and าว is possibly pronounced 'ao'. After noon. Warming up. Went out and saw friends. It's been ages since I saw Parris and Nancy. Used my new computer but might still return it. |
