Dream Catchers An ancient Chippewa tradition The dream net has been made For many generations Where spirit dreams have played. Hung above the cradle board, Or in the lodge up high, The dream net catches bad dreams, While the good dreams slip on by. Bad dreams become entangled Among the sinew thread. Good dreams slip through the center hole, While you dream upon your bed. This is an ancient legend, Since dreams will never cease, Hang this dream net above your bed, Dream on, an be at peace. |
Well, I guess I am sort of behind and ahead all in one night. Writing Space Well, mine is special to me. Since the absence of my hubby (he is still in Keck Hospital of USC in LA) I spend a lot of time in our bedroom. My desk is there. I open the drapes to the glass doors overlooking the pool where a lot of incentive comes from. Of course, I am totally equipped! I have a printer, monitor, keyboard, radio, t.v., bed, laptop. all my books(just bought a new one GOOD! (on occasion Beer ) you name it. I am proud to say the rest of the house is spick and span I write everything here. I am currently working on a novel with the Novel 101 group and am having a blast. I even wrote a murder scene- I never knew I had that in me. I will try to be better about staying current |
Comfort food I have to say the first thought that comes to mind is chocolate. But—not just any chocolate. It has to be See's Chocolate. My favorite are Carmel and Mocha crèmes. Every year since I was a child, my dad put a two-pound box under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. To this day I cannot pass Christmas without carrying on the tradition. I always think of him even though he has since passed. Then there is the Mexican food and Friday nights at Jimenez Mexican Restaurant. Every Friday night my dad took us out for dinner. I grew up with the young girl that waited on us. (Her parents owned the restaurant) My mom always got what she wanted on that night, furniture, dishwasher, various other things. I must say I can't carry on that tradition but it is fun to think about. Jimenez has since gone out of business, but it is a fond memory. These are my memories |
