Write a list of at least ten things that make you smile and why. I smile because I'm happy! It's a beautiful autumn morning here in Las Vegas. The temperature is a cool 60 degrees, with higher temperatures expected when the sun ascends over Sunrise Mountain. Temperatures are expected to get up to about 71 degrees, which means we will have a pleasant Sunday. I'm the only one in my apartment or neighborhood who is up this morning. If anyone else is awake neither they nor their pets making any noise. It is mornings like this that make me smile, because they are calm and tranquil. Morning prayers make me happy, they bring a smile to my face, and focus my mind on the positive. Logging onto Facebook and, immediately, seeing quotes from the Baha'i scriptures (which have been posted by some of the groups I participate in). Sometimes I simply like the post, while other times I share it or post a comment. My response depends on how I'm feeling, and what's going on in my life at that specific moment. I also like see, reading, and responding to post from my friends across the world. A Writing.com mug of coffee makes me smile, wakes me on this beautiful Sunday. Reviewing makes me smile when I read inspiring stories about people or animals. I also enjoy reviewing comedy piece that make me laugh. When I am depressed one of the things that changes my mood is reviewing stories and poems that make me smile or laugh. Some days the only items I review are in the animal, pet comedy, inspirational, spiritual, or religious genres because I know that I will find one or more items to make me laugh, smile, or think. Opening the front door, looking out into the beautiful, slightly breezy, sunshiny morning and watching the pigeons scavenging. Reading articles posed on BahaiTeachings.org , and in e*lix*ir Journal , because they include scripture verses and make me think. I especially like reading the poetry in the "e*lix*ir Journal". In addition, I like to read articles on xlink:http://bahaiblog.net/site/}Baha'i Blog{/xlink} and [xlink:https://news.bahai.org/}Baha'i World News Service{/xlink} because I know I can always find something positive, uplifting, or thought provoking. Cinnamon rolls or some other pastry to go with my morning coffee, because I am less likely to let my coffee get cold. Making daily gratitude entries in "Writing in Snow" . I usually place other things in that journal, such as the poems I post to Poet999 - A Butterfly Emerges From Her Cocoon , thoughts on articles I read, and scripture verses (usually with my thoughts on the verse or the way it applies to my life). Songs on YouTube, because I can listen to music by Baha'i artist. |
