🤔🤔🤔

During one of his travels, *Kalidasa* felt very thirsty and looked around for water. He saw *a woman* drawing water from a well.

He went up to her and asked her for water. She agreed to give him water, but asked him, *“Who are you? Introduce yourself.”*

Now Kalidasa thought that an ordinary village woman was not worthy of knowing who Kalidasa was. So he said, *“I am a traveller.”*

But his lady replied, “In this world there are only *2 travellers* – the *Sun* and the *Moon.* Both Rise and Set every day and keep travelling perpetually.”

Then Kalidasa said, “Alright then, *I am a guest.”* The lady promptly replied, “In this world there are only *2 guests* – *Youth* and *Wealth* … both are temporary and hence can only be called as guests.”

Intrigued Kalidasa said, “I am a *Tolerant person* (sahansheel vyakti).” Now the lady replied, “In this world only 2 truly know the meaning of Tolerance – *Bhoomi (Earth)* and *Tree* . How much ever you stamp the earth or throw stones at the tree (for the fruits), both continue to nurture us.”

Now Kalidasa was completely perplexed. He said, “Fine. *I am a stubborn person (hatavaadi).”* The lady smiled and said, “There are only *2 truly stubborn* personalities – our *nails* and our *hair.* We keep cutting them non-stop, but they continue to grow.”

Kalidasa had been patient so far, but now in anger he said, *“I am a fool”.* Now the lady gave a wide smile and said, “There are *only 2 kinds of fools* in this world – a *King* who rules without having any capability or knowledge & a *Minister* who is a sycophant to such a King and lavishes praises on such a useless king.”

Kalidasa realised that he had been *outsmarted* . He fell at the feet of the lady and when he touched her feet and then got up, whom did he see?

*Mata Saraswati* – the Goddess of Learning and Wisdom. She said, “Kalidasa, you are wise. But only if you know yourself do you become a *Manushya* (human being). A person without any awareness of self has not reached the pinnacle of being a Human.

*Note:*
The Guru who recounted this story in His Pravachan said, *“Children should become a Manushya* & know themselves. More than teaching them how to earn more money and become rich, parents should teach them to become aware of themselves and become better Human beings.

This is so so good ... I had never known these profound distinctions between *Intelligence* and *Wisdom
Worth reading on ...

1. Intelligence leads to arguments.
Wisdom leads to settlements.
2. Intelligence is power of will.
Wisdom is power OVER will.
3. Intelligence is heat, it burns.
Wisdom is warmth, it comforts.
4. Intelligence is pursuit of knowledge, it tires the seeker.
Wisdom is pursuit of truth, it inspires the seeker.
5. Intelligence is holding on.
Wisdom is letting go.
6. Intelligence leads you.
Wisdom guides you.
7. An intelligent man thinks he knows everything.
A wise man knows that there is still something to learn.
8. An intelligent man always tries to prove his point.
A wise man knows there really is no point.
9. An intelligent man freely gives unsolicited advice.
A wise man keeps his counsel until all options are considered.
10. An intelligent man understands what is being said.
A wise man understands what is left unsaid.
11. An intelligent man speaks when he has to say something.
A wise man speaks when he has something to say.
12. An intelligent man sees everything as relative.
A wise man sees everything as related.
13. An intelligent man tries to control the mass flow.
A wise man navigates the mass flow.
14. An intelligent man preaches.
A wise man reaches.

Intelligence is good
but wisdom achieves better results.

"On this tiny raft
I shall cross the river of life.
When twilight descends,
I shall discard and heed it no more.
Let it drift away.
Then what shadows, what lights!
I am a pilgrim of the Unknown,
That is my Joy.
It raises and resolves
All my conflicts.
No sooner has the Known bound me fast in her net,
Than appears the Unknown
And it bewilders me!
The Unknown is my helmsman,
My deliverance!
With him is my covenant.
His love is terrible,
With his terror he breaks my fear,
He heeds not the caution of the old.
Breaking the shell,
He frees the pearl.
Perhaps you brood and ask if the past returns,
And the raft pulls alongside the old pier.
No, it will not.
You are afraid of what lies ahead,
Are you so poor
That only the past is you?
O poet! the hour has struck;
End thy banquet.
The waves flow in the flood-tide.
He has not yet shown his face,
Therefore my heart throbs.
In what form shall the Unknown come to me?
In what new colors, at the shore of what sea?"

Sometimes in the dark of the night,
I visit my conscience
To see if it is still breathing,
For its dying a slow death
Every day.

When I pay for a meal in a fancy place.
An amount which is perhaps the monthly income
Of the guard who holds the door open.
And quickly I shrug away that thought,
It dies a little.

When I buy vegetables from the vendor,
And his son "chhotu" smilingly weighs the potatoes,
Chhotu, a small child, who should be studying at school.
I look the other way
It dies a little.

When I am decked up in a designer dress,
A dress that cost a bomb
And I see a woman at the crossing,
In tatters, trying unsuccessfully to save her dignity.
And I immediately roll up my window.
It dies a little.

When I buy expensive gifts for my children,
On return, I see half clad children,
With empty stomach and hungry eyes,
Selling toys at red light
I try to save my conscience by buying some, yet
It dies a little.

When my sick maid sends her daughter to work,
Making her bunk school
I know I should tell her to go back.
But I look at the loaded sink and dirty dishes,
And I tell myself that is just for a couple of days
It dies a little.

When I hear about a rape
or a murder of a child,
I feel sad, yet a little thankful that it's not my child.
I can not look at myself in the mirror,
It dies a little.

When people fight over caste creed and religion.
I feel hurt and helpless
I tell myself that my country is going to the dogs,
I blame the corrupt politicians,
Absolving myself of all responsibilities
It dies a little.

When my city is choked.
Breathing is dangerous in the smog ridden metropolis,
I take my car to work daily ,
Not taking the metro, not trying car pool.
One car won't make a difference, I think
It dies a little.

So when in the dark of the night,
I visit my conscience
And find it still breathing
I am surprised.
For, with my own hands
Daily, bit by bit, I kill it, I bury it.

Neither the ends, nor the beginnings, it seeks only the journey, the spirit is the eternal traveller.

“Anitya”
Impermanence

He looked as if the snow flakes have gathered for one last dance before they give themselves to the burning sun.

A faint tune spoke of mysteries they absorbed from the blue mirage, they were being a part of.

The world is ever transient, evolving,

In it everything changes by the second

Is there anything even close to permanence in this fleeting world ?

And if there is something...

...to hold on to.

Than that anchor can only be discovered within,

as an essence of love, life’s breath.

To take that voyage, is to know how to unlearn,

To feel deeply again,

the caresses of time,

the dance of dualities,

It’s emanations and dissipations,

The triangles of the womb & the seed infusing,

The union of birth “laya”
And the summation to the source “pralaya”

the tessellating beauty of fractals,

The silent humming of cells,

stars transforming,

and everything made from their remains,

is infused by this.

Yet even they collapse and fall like leaves,

in the great expense of the space, searching...

Asking the same questions perhaps...

To what is permanent in this ever changing world?

A gentle voice hummed...

“Where the stars keep vigil, worlds dissolve and are born anew.

A cosmic memory brims along the farthest reaches of our being, felt in the sway of trees and waves.

For everything in the now is dancing, weaving the breath, across the solar shores.

Embrace it.

Neither the ends, nor the beginnings, it seeks only the journey, the spirit is the eternal traveller.

Canada bans flights in and out, and the daily death toll exceeds 1,000.

Saudi Arabia is blocked and there are no flights in and out.

Tanzania is completely blocked.

Brazil fell into the deadliest chapter, with more than 4,100 deaths today.

Spain has announced that the state of emergency can be extended.

The United Kingdom announced a one-month lockdown.

France Locked for 2 weeks. Germany Sealed for 4 weeks. Italy followed closely today.

All these countries/regions have confirmed that the third wave of COVID19 is more deadly than the first & second wave. Therefore, we must be very careful and take all precautions.

*Become an alert communicator between friends and family. Save everyone from the third wave.*

*Don't judge by the second wave of blockade that nothing happened.*

History tells us that, like the Spanish flu of 1917-1919, the third wave was more dangerous than the first and second waves. Millions of people died.

*Protect yourself and your Family and Friends.*

😊🙏🏻 *CHOICE IS YOURS.*🙏🏻😊

Maintain biosafety measures, wear masks, maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently, etc.

History will not lie, let us reflect.

By all means marry. If you get a good wife, you’ll be happy. If you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.

Wife inspires us to great things and prevent us from achieving them.

While getting married, most of the guys say to girl's parents,
"I will keep your daughter happy for the rest of her life".

Have you ever heard a girl saying something like this to the boy's parents like "I will keep your son happy for the rest of his life"????

Nooo.... because women don't tell lies! 😀😜

If wife wants husband’s attention, she just has to look sad and uncomfortable.
If husband wants wife’s attention, he just has to look comfortable & happy.

“Take me with you, oh! laden with the ashes of time.”
Spoke the Sun who was afraid of the world now, where everyone wanted a piece of him.

Kaali: What are you afraid of ?

Sun: That they’ll take all my light, it has taken me so many eons to gather this much and they want me to rise everyday, illuminating their world.

I fear I’ll lose all I have.

The silent one knew, that whoever this light will touch, beside the energy will also be touched by it’s fears too.

They will not share, ones who’d be touched by this light, even though they’ll have more than enough.

She hinted the sun to look far into the space, towards a blue, green pearl called the Earth.

“Direct your light there Oh bright one, and don’t fear,
Dharati as she’s called, she will hold you like she cradles all in her embrace.

To her a little light is enough.

Close your eyes...

“In that beautiful deep darkness, take a long breath, hold it, let it swirl and let it bond with the stardust in you, let it be illuminated by the love in your heart, exhale.

The sun rose in the horizon, controlling his light and was mesmerized as his light traveled through the aura of the Earth, his light distilled into only what the beings needed.
The red and the violets were kept at bay.

Sun was not as afraid as he was before, but still something bellowed in his heart, a doubt, as he saw beings with two legs and arms, cutting down the trees, which held his light.

He saw that their hearts were broken.

Through the sea and the sky the Earth spoke...

“Their hearts are too damaged to be whole again but I hope they take all the fragments and join them together one day.”

It may make something even better. They may call it “Peace”, for they do not know yet what it may seem like.

They are my children but they don’t see the harm they’re causing to those who don’t need much.

The words of the great black one echoed again...

“A little is enough...”

The Earth spoke gently one last time but in pain.

“I hope one day when they’ll illuminate the sun within, you’d get some rest, till then don’t fear...”

“A little is more than enough.”

Said the one who could’ve had all the realms if she wished.
Tamobhagni - the one who took darkness as her portion.

In my youth a feeling of being overpowered by worldly hankering pained me much. I felt I was paralysed by the toxicity of attachments. I kept running after sadhus and sannyasis, here and there with a hope of some supernatural help to throw off that condition. I was received by many of them with compassion. Many beautiful sermons were heard. But that power which could wipe off my pain was not felt anywhere. Perchance, I heard the name of Ma Anandamayi from a relative. The name, only the name, attracted me very much and a new feeling came within, that Her feet would be my refuge.

In the month of January of 1948 in Gita-Jayanti ceremony at South Kolkata, I saw Ma for the first time. Without going into details, I may say, She gazed at me, though I was seated at the remotest corner of a big pandal. I tried to open myself to a wave of purity coming from Ma. I was toned up and I felt that I was above that paralysing toxicity. A feeling of bliss, quiet, purity and strength filled my mind, which surrounded me for several months.

The question naturally maddened me, Who is this Ma, with such a power of graceful gaze, of purifying presence, with such a healing smile ? I began to read books on Ma. But Her life-history puzzled me much. A scientific mind always searches for a link between cause and effect. But the cause behind this " Ma Anandamayi " , an incarnation of eternal Bliss, could not be discovered ! How did Nirmala became Ma of the whole world ? History is silent about that. No evolutionary progress from Nirmala to Ma could be traced. Everything was formulated from the beginning of Her life. So, I was trying to discover a scientific formula for explaining Ma, a mysterious phenomenon in the world.

I found that all avatars have a phase of ignorance in their life. God, in the form of an avatar, comes down to ignorance. As if He covers himself with a veil of darkness and gradually unveils a way to knowledge and light for people to follow. Thus the mission of an avatar is fulfilled. But Ma had no such phase of ignorance. She has come without that veil, like Sri Krishna and Christ, who are also not regarded as avatars, but as ever unveiled form of that One.

I tried to dive into the teachings of Sri Aurobindo. He says, that if one can surrender his mind, vitally and body to the divinity, and remain aloof as indifferent observer, the divine power will itself come down and make all necessary arrangements for divinising that mind and body. All sadhana will be done automatically. This idea of automatisation resembled Ma's ' automatic ' sadhana. So I got a sort of formula for understanding Ma.

But the question came in my mind : Did Ma surrender anything ? Had She anything to surrender or receive ? The mysterious Ma is born without ego, without "I" and "mine". But it strikes every keen observer that two phenomena exist simultaneously, always, always in Ma's body. One is an aloof witness, just like the sky which witnesses all clouds with thunders and lightnings coming and going in various forms, but itself remains undisturbed and unscratched. The other is the sportive divine play or 'Kheyal' , explained as a 'spiritual wind' by some Western observers. What is this 'Kheyal' ? Is it the divine Will ? Willingness is relative to unwillingness. These occur in the field of ego, in the field of conflict and relativity. But a child's throwing of hands and feet this way and that way is not guided by willingness or unwillingness, it is a spontaneous expression of the joyous heart. 'Kheyal' is like that, a spontaneous expression of the eternal Bliss. In the Kali temple of the Hindus, we find two images, Shiva and Kali. 'Shiva' lies down inactively as an indifferent spectator of the sportive 'Kheyal', or 'Kali' dancing on His joyous heart. I discovered that these tattwas exist simultaneously in the body of Ma Anandamayi.
