Reading this, when you wrote about the sarcastic remark you got from the shelter, I felt a spark of anger. Someone like that should not be working with animals. It takes someone with love for animals, someone who would have understood your calls and sympathized with you. (I am so very against ANY type of animal care if not given with love).
You know, my oldest, Bacardi, age 3 has been neutered but loves to hunt and is fast when sneaking out the door. But always back just before the sun rises, so I know your worry.
