Okay, I love love love!!!! POPCORN! Your title caught my attention! I have no idea how old your girl is, but I think this is so funny! She has to run upstairs and hide to eat it? In my family, my kids would know I would chase them down just so I could eat some too! I hope you save this for her, some day she will look at this poem as a piece of her history and I hope she will smile. I know I sure did! How can you take a spill on the ice and bring about a trip to childhood and any icy angel? You play in the day of white frosting and bring about warmth in your cold day. I can feel youth as well as a little bit of age. I don't like to fall down but remember when you had no fear of falling? It's funny how suddenly we change our minds as adults. I enjoyed this and am glad you allowed me to look into your youthful soul!

What I love about this poem is the way I can see and hear the geese over head. I can feel the essence of time passing and summer moves unto fall and winter. The season and reason of change. To say goodbye to granny and know that she lives forever on in heaven, the sky. It's brilliant and makes me sad in a way and how much I am missing my own parents today. I think I am in a sentimental mood and your words are playing right to my heart.

I am so saddened by this poem. It speaks right to my heart and how time has stolen something so precious. It's so horrible to see it happen in front of you and you have no control to stop it, or change the tides of fate. I love the imagery of sand, time and erosion. It plays very well with the emotions of this poem. can offer no suggestions for improvement. This is very well done and sad on so many levels.

What a beautiful and sad way to look at your daughter. Her beauty as a rose, but thinking she lost her beauty when she ran away, her choice is so clearly not yours. it's a painful journey of watching a love bloom in front of us, of seeing a child so precious make a decision that hurts to the core of our being. Your examples of compost and decay are brilliant and honest. I can offer no suggestions to make this a better poem, I think it's honest as it is. I can only hope the rose remains her inner beauty forever.

I am a huge fan of romance and love! I want to see and feel the emotions of the heart. I get the cry to be seen for who we are and what we love and live for. I admire this kind of heart pouring poetry. I would suggest you spell out the word one, it will make this look better, but I would never tell you how to write your thoughts, poetry is very subjective to the one that wrote it. The Children of the Forest is an interesting read. It talks some getting used to the idea of a little girl being hurt by the giants and I enjoyed how I could place the girl with her parents or bigger adults and the way words can destroy the spirit. I was so happy to see her leave the forest and dance in the sunlight!! I would only offer in the way of advice to cut down some of your words. For example we know she is a little girl, so the word very seems over-used. It's just a few words that could make this a better and stronger read. Thank you for sharing it!

Something is so raw in your words. It's pretty amazing when the heart changes gears and affairs happen. It's a mess on the whole being of what you believed in. It's never really about sex either. Thank you for your entry in the "Invalid Item"  However, dear your an Alumni now big boy, so...Your short story was suppose to be here...At the Paper Doll Gang Short Story Challenge, which happens to be in your port! LOL

However, to prove that I am a good sport and a fun person, I will give you my ruling!

I Judge on the following three items:

1. Follow the prompt. Dang it! You did and you added music and romance and did you have to kill the guy off? Dang, nothing good ever last!


2. Easy to Read. As always, your words spill a fine tall of romance, despair and just enough imagination to get me to smile and wish.


3. Errors/grammar. I am not an editor, so for me to find mistakes, they must really stand out. Perfect, as always!

What we make of ourself is part parental control and part nature, you have proved that well in this adventure. I enjoyed reading this and have oftened wondered what makes a person chase adventure and photos like that. Interesting for sure!! I do have one question, I wonder why you change the name from Daniel over to Merrick. Is that to present that he turns into a man? I was a little confused by that. Also...Is Ian the author of the photo book that he carried with him? I kept looking for that connection, but I just assumed it was his. Oh yes, this would make a great song. It has the feeling and words that could be repeated and the theme would work well. I met a witch and she made me eat corn stew! What a funny and clever set up. I loved this and it made me laugh out loud. I don't normally do adlibs, but this was fun...Plus she wasn't wicked at all...I got to turn into my young self! What could be better?
