This is a very well written and entertaining story. Some people just will not believe the truth when it's staring them in the eyes. It's easier to pretend they don't see than admit what they are really seeing.

Trish, Here to review your fine story

*Note*FIRST IMPRESSION: Wonderful story telling. A man loses everything he has in one night and makes his way to his favorite place, by the river to contemplate his life.

*Thumbsup*PLOT THOUGHTS: While sitting by the river, he has three strange visitors, 'sounds vaguely familiar' *GHOST*. Each has a story to share and a lesson to depart.

*Right*ERRORS: I found no errors. This is very well written.

*Star*FAVORITE PART: I think the three visitors were my favorite, especially the old woman. Just the fact that she says she has never told a lie, would almost certainly make her a lier. She may be right about living an exemplary life and never had anything bad happen to her, because she definitely has not learned to deal with adversity.

*Idea*SUGGESTIONS: I have only one suggestion that I make quite often. I find it much more difficult to read a story with no separation between paragraphs. It makes it easier to follow and keeps you from losing your place while you are reading.

Very nicely written and so many truths. It is hard to drop those defenses and just trust you won't be hurt.

This is great story telling. It is all so understandable. The feelings of guilt that just won't go away. The phone calls that must be welcomed as much as dreaded. Waiting for Pete to return, knowing he can't. I really enjoyed your ghost story. The guilt will never go away as long as the calls continue.

Now, this is truly frightening. I love it! I would love to read more, but you stopped at just the right time to leave everyone wondering which shows the skill of a professional writer of horror and mystery. We have to come up with our own conclusions which are much more frightening than anything more you could have put on paper. Great job!

So clever. What wonderful technoligies to come, but do we really want the.

I do believe, if given ya choice, I would prefer the grave to being in a musuem with my thought on display.

I do so enjoy a writer with such a vivid and twisted imagination. I really enjoyed this little tale. I'm sure I will be back for more later.

I had to choose this one, being somewhat of an insomniac myself. Guess I was just hoping to maybe come up
a solution that would work for me. This is a great story
I'm a big fan of self medication, but not in the usual sense. I had to finally cut out all meds the drs. were giving me to get over my depression, and to be able to sleep again and recover some of my mind.
I'll never get it back but at least I'm back at my computer trying to write again for the first time in about five years.

By self medication, I do not mean drugs. Just some helpful supplements and trying to eat better.

More than you wanted to hear, I'm sure but I do tend to go on. Thank you for this wonderful story, well written and very entertaining.

Well Bob,
I just learned more than I ever wanted to know about poetry. I guess that's why I can't write it. I don't know one form from another. The few poems I have written, {I call them poems but I don't imagine anyone else does}. I just set down and write what I want to say, but in fewer words than if I was writing a story. I have now idea how many types of poetry there are, but I have never heard of most of the ones mentioned.
Someday Afternoon and Quiet Conversation are my favorites by far. I can understand them, relate to them and they are enjoyable to read. I read very little poetry because they just make me feel dumb when I can not understand them at all. Great joy on writing this, but I have to admit, most of it is way over my head.

I loved this. Of course, I read everything I see that is 'Poe' related. This is hilarious. I can write dark stories, but have never had the gift of humor.I wish you would write more of this. I will check out your other writings. Thank you for sharing this. I really enjoyed it

Review of Horror Movie

What a story! This was scart enough. Rather hard to believe, but aren't most horror stories. It must be a rather large town to keep enough people coming each month to the 'features'. When you think you've read it all, someone still manages to come up with something new. Well done.

Review of Lonely Crow

I love this poem. Anything containing animals and especially the mysterious crow gets my attention. This is really well written. I also enjoy anything with a dark theme so this is doubly something that would catch my attention. I am also new here. Just one month but it's a great site. Love it.

Review of Sleep Paralysis
Review by Trish
Rated: E | (4.5)
This was very frightening. I have insomnia a lot, but it's because my mind is just to active for me to sleep. If I thought I had a nightmare like that waiting for me to drift off, I would probably never sleep again. Which would be worse, constant insomnia or the awaiting nightmare. Good job.

Great short story for a flash fiction. Sounds like a great way to explain the Headless Horseman legend. Forever will be a long, frightening time for the two young liers.

Review of The Open Grave

Every body pays in the end and it sounds like he got just what he earned. Too many people still like that who feel like no one else's life has any worth but their own and will gladly exchange anybody else, even their own mother for what suits their needs at the time. Well done.

Now this is really a weird one. I enjoyed it, because I'm a little weird also. I was wondering if she was picking up the voice of the shooter, but you kept me wondering till close to the end. That's good. I always hate to see the ending coming too soon.
Great little story. I'm glad she lived.

Very strange---and scary. It's hard to believe that an ad for kleenex could be that scary but that's why someone would come up with such a benign ad, no one would believe it and everyone would want to watch for themselves. I really wanted to read a bit more about the curse's effects, other than sleepless nights, but it was very well written.

This is a very good story. I had never heard of the white feather before. Just another way of saying chicken I guess, but it doesn't sound like a lot of people did their homework before handing them out. At least it had a very good ending. Thank you for sharing this great story.

An unusual little story but very well written. I would never have believed that three children could keep a secret like this so well. Usually, one will always tell. Poor Bantay, and poor Grandpa. Those whipping must have been fierce to have kept such a secret all those years.
