I sincerely hope you are not through with this story. I was expecting an ending. Sometimes I like things to be left to the imagination, but I'm not sure I can come up with an ending to this one. Since you ended with: to be continued, I hope you will. I will keep checking and until then, I will try to end it myself.
Good luck with coming up with a great ending. I really enjoyed your story.
Checking back, I see this was written several years ago, and even left up in the air, I'm so glad I read this riveting story. Thank you so much for sharing. It looks like Melissa will become the next Rebecca, but without a house.

This is really a great tale. I almost hate to read the end of it because then I won't be able to keep reading. I must read the end but I hate to come to the end of a great story or a great book. I may be begging you to write more. I will definitely read more of your work.

Another great ghost story. I've gotten lucky today. I must say, the ending surprised me, which is my favorite kind of story. When they can surprise me, they are winners. Very well written and I truly worry about an ending like this being not far into our future. People just don't seem to care anymore. Scary!

I enjoy a great ghost story and this really was. The old lady really put Bill in his place and spared the polite brother. Foul language seldom solves any problem and the old ghost definitely did not appreciate it. I can understand why it is not Bill's favorite story.

What a great story and the perfect title. I can just see something like this happening. I hope he was able to replant and his prairie garden grows just like he wanted. I'm sure that was a horrible shock after waiting the three weeks to come home and see how well his plants were doing.

Short and to the point. Great story for flash fiction. I enjoyed it. Sometimes the end is better than the dread leading up to it.

*Note*FIRST IMPRESSION Just another young couple forced to give up their dreams because of an unplanned pregnancy.

*Thumbsup*PLOT THOUGHTS When I really started to get into this, I see how wrong I was. I love the way you have written this, going from on point of view to the other. Each one makes sense. You have to realize what she gave up. Just thinking of this baby as a parasite prevents her from really getting attached. For the most part, they both seem to be doing their best.Kayla needed at least some support and help from her family. With that, she might have been able to cope.Jayden had no idea how bad it was for her and seemed to be trying to do the best he could for her.


*Right*ERRORS No errors that I could see.


*Star*FAVORITE PART My favorite part was that Jayden was able to save his son both times. He should have been able to figure by now that his wife really needed some help. She should have levled with him just how bad it was getting for her before it got that bad. She did the right thing by leaving before she killed the baby, even though it is a wonder she didn't the way she left. If only people could see how badly they need help before it is too late.You did a masterful job of laying this out. Really makes you think.

*Note*FIRST IMPRESSION Now this is an ugly, horrid, putred, sickening witch story. Just perfect.

*Thumbsup*PLOT THOUGHTS The witch is set to pay everyone back for burning her when she was still young and beautiful. It sounds like she is succeeding with her horrible potion. The entire town has been driven mad. She wants them all to hurt like she did.


*Right*ERRORS No errors. This is a great write.


*Star*FAVORITE PART My favorite part is that for at least one young man, it worked as a love potion. The witch now looking like a beautiful young woman received her first kiss, but happiness was not to be.

Very interesting. I didn't know most of this. I have a chloresteral problem, but still quit taking the meds because of all the side effects. What I am really trying to do now is cut out the sugar. Thanks for you sound advice. Many people are too quick
to believe what the doctors and pharmacutical companies are trying to push on us. Thank you for pointing this out.

*Thumbsup*PLOT THOUGHTS I figured he would be in real trouble when he woke up. Instead, he was in for a real treat. A stroke of brilliance that he was allowed to give a speech on the future. I'm sure no one believed any of his truths.

This is a wonderful story. Well written and a good lesson for families that let estrangement become permanent. Maybe it's not to late for this father.

I have one suggestion. I find it much easier to read a story if the paragraphs are separated. They can be read without always losing your place in the story.
