He is letting her into his heart again. He is under no illusion she might cheat again. He wants something to hold on to. Something to count on. Something to believe in.
But can he have that with her?
They have been down this road so many times and he is always left hanging. Wondering why. Thinking of her words and how they meant nothing at the time.

Then they get together, talk, become united again with more and more promises.
This poor guy loves her enough to try one more time. Lets pray she is worth it.

Thank you for sharing.

It might come the time when one of the partners decides that he loves her enough to let her go. he wants her to be happy and he knows he isn't doing the job. Staying away and leaving her lonely. Taking her for granted and watching their love fall apart.
Finding the strength to do what's right isn't an easy task. It would be so much simpler to put the blame on the other person and leave Scott free.
Our character might have made mistakes but he knows what is right and wrong. He is accepting his fault in this tragic love story. He wholeheartedly wishes her all the best and to find someone worthy of her.

Thank you for sharing.

Being part of humanity has some special circumstances involved. As soon as one human becomes strong enough to take control of the other human; we loose our free will.
Then what are we?

Lets say that one human is in charge but that human has forgotten about morals and intellect. Perhaps even forgot about love and feelings or compassion.

Lets say that human is nothing more than an empty shell with the power to transform and move another about as ordered.

In other words that one human is pulling the strings as the other helplessly dangles as the wind blows back and forth like a pendulum.

Shouldn't we have more to do with our existence than to be a puppet on a string. Should we allow one to control us? NO.

Should we not stand up and find that humanity that once was ours? As the piece suggest, humanity is sad. We don't have to let others destroy what happiness we find or joy we feel. What right do they have to pick at our flaws and make fun of our choices we make.

Stand up, fight for you.

Thank you for sharing.

An elderly man is going fishin by himself. His wife is gone on without him and his son has his own life elsewhere.
The elderly man reflects on his life and how things are moving slower now.
------------

Then his mind is carried away on the wings of the past. To those times when he was young and his wife gave him a son. She was pretty and he misses her. When the son and dad finished fishing there would be one really good dinner.
-----------

Then he comes back to today. He has a big fish on the line. Heavy in weight tells him that the fish must be old. Finally after a struggle; he lands it.
Looking at the elderly fish and thinking of himself; he decides she needs to keep on going like he does.
---------------

The best part of the story comes next. The part that will change his life. The part that brings joy to his heart.

Thank you for sharing.
You words brought the piece together well and believable.
I love happy endings.

Apparently at one time there was a contest on WDC about a good rant.
Well our author rants about reviewers.

Putting them into 3 different categories.
Nitpicking
A-hole reviews and raters
I am God

Well there are nitpickers; that can be no doubt.
There are also those that find insult the objective.
Then there are those that feel their opinion is the be all end all.

The opinionated piece goes on and on to make a point.
Try to look at others work and realize it took a lot of time and effort. Don't just blow it off like it was a feather caught on a blustery day.
Find something inside it that shows meaning.
Sometimes the meaning is obvious and sometimes it take time and thought.

Any way you look at it, we all had to start somewhere.
Give the author a fair shake. Words can help to build them up or tare them down.

Thank you for sharing.

As we all know, WDC prides itself with encouraging new and old members. It also appreciates the efforts made in direct and honest reviews.

The piece is about a reviewer who looks upon it a bit differently. Beginning the review and continuing with the review until it's time for the ugly truth. Perhaps there are errors everywhere, structure crumbling to the ground and sadly it won't meet the read-a-loud test.

We, as reviewers, don't want to give the ugly review. We want encourage and help if possible. We want them to get back on the horse and write some more. Spending time and energy to find something positive to tell the author.

So as our author calls this type of review a challenge to your endurance. Hopefully, it can be diplomatically completed without the reviewer's head blowing up. Ha!

Have you ever been enchanted by another's work. The way their command of the words brings imagery so easily. The hint of passion brought to mind about the author.
What would it be like if those words were directed just at you?
To be close enough to softly caress but yet far enough to remain merely a dream.

Young boys on a camp out have to welcome any new members in a special way.
To pass the new boy must eat a disgusting T-rd dog.
As our character gets closer to the moment of truth; he must have been a lovely shade of green.
His friend was taunting him with the object that very well could remain in his digestive system for eternity.

The ending made me feel better.
Glad it came about the way it did.

Here we have a man calling his lady an angel.
Well, even angels need to know where they stand.
The man thinks she might want to be free and says it's ok.
Perhaps she was expecting a different answer.
She begins to leave and it finally dawns on him he better speak up.
So he tells her how much he will miss her. How she is the best of them all.
Being a woman, that statement right there would tend to really p-ss me off. Like how many are there and where does she fit in the line.

The thought of her leaving makes him sick, he says.
Still he continues on with a guilt trip and she comes running back. Promising her no worries or fear.

I read this piece three times and finally figured out what he was doing.
He is playing her like a fiddle. More than likely in about 3 or 4 weeks she will need reassurance again.
Never forget, he admitted there were others.(she was the best) What does he tell the rest?

Our author brings us an uplifting piece this evening. The fact that a writer has a passion for the work. A dedication and the acceptance that there may be good or bad reception of the piece submitted.
Still the writer's heart keeps doing what it does. It dreams and converts those dreams to the pen.
Indeed we are blessed because we never will give up.

She feels lost in this world. She doesn't feel she fits in. She has been hurt and has scars. She has even caused some scars on others.
Time has taken its toll leaving emptiness behind.
Getting close to her is impossible and a bit risky.
As hard as she might try to overcome those things any clues slip away on the wind.
To her she is lost, empty and it shows in her eyes.
Just remember she didn't become so hardened on her own. Something turned a young girl into a angry, isolated woman.

She is in love with a boy.
There is going to be a parting.
So what should she tell him before he goes.
Something that will stick with him and help him know how much he means to her.
She can't let this opportunity go by without expressing her feelings for him.

Sometimes people do that; they miss the opportunity to tell someone they love them. Once they are gone, you can't turn the clock back.

So put your heart in charge; speak your mind. Tell him you love him and what an impact he has made on you and your life.

Thank you for sharing.

Our author is having a heart to heart with God. He is a humble man and asked for forgiveness for his sins. The communication lines are open and he is using this time wisely.
He isn't afraid to admit he needs help to stay on the straight path.
God wants us to call on him when we need him to cleans our souls. The Devil is out there and will wait for the slightest sign of weakness to pounce on us.
See the temptation for what it is a passport to sin.

Thank you for sharing and a bit of wisdom tonight.

Our author brings us a tribute to Poe with Annabelle Lee. The pictures by the raging see show how their love could never be. They loved each other but the odds were against them. She was taken by an evil wind away and put in a tomb.
The sea still churns, his heart still burns for the love of his Annabelle Lee.

It has been a very uneventful day. Like a lazy day we all need from time to time.
Then it gets boring and there needs to be something to occupy your mind.
Call a friend or two. Make some plans and have some fun.
Resting is great.
Relaxing is needed.
Companionship is the icing on the cake.

In this piece we find a stray kitty that finds a loving home.
Some might think a pet is a lot of work but when they look at you with those eyes; you just can't say no.
So sweet and, as our author says, super-duper.
A gentle heart and a gift from God.
As their family grows so does the love.

Thank you for this sweet piece.

It goes from room to room. Stare the stare that is driving our character nuts.
It almost sounds like something POE would write.

At the end we find out what this identity is. A grouchy, grumpy, opinionated, brooding cat.

Have you ever thought something out to what you consider the end and then realize there is still a bit of doubt?
That, unfortunately, is the way things are.
We all fall into the trap of listening to something so logical and then after listening to another's point of view; we find doubt.

This simply illustrates how, although subtle, there will always be things we will never comprehend.

The author brings us a piece that is every writers nightmare.
To go along creating and then to have the Writing police converge on your house. Trying to keep you from doing further damage with your pen.

Breaking down the door, the character points his pen at the officers and they freeze from fear.

He must be put in a padded room and receive treatment to avoid passing on his delusion to others.
For all they know he could have a writing group filled with hopeless dreamers.

Thank you for the laughs.
Unfortunately, I hear the sirens coming for me right now. Ha!

In my heart, I knew it was just a matter of time.

While the bombs were falling:

This piece feels like it might be in WW11. So much of the fighting took place in cities. The piece mentions a church tower. In that tower is a sniper. The soldiers down below are being picked off.
The piece goes into to vivid detail of how a soldier on the battlefield has to see to their own wounds.
We know they practice taking apart their rifles but doing it when they are wounded and in pain. The courage they showed against such odds.
Then, once he took care of his wound, he would make his way around to others in need.
This is such a good example of 'brothers in arms'.
Looking out for each other as our soldiers have done through so many conflicts.

Thank you for sharing this.
Your words make it easy to see the different steps taken. Taking the gun and bayonet apart and putting them back together. Using might and courage beyond imaginable.

More than anything the author wants to be able to contribute and create.

Our author brings us a piece with a novel idea.
Combine cemeteries and golf courses. Although the piece seems to have some elements that would suffice if there were misgivings.
However, I feel those dearly departed should be able to vote.

After all, we don't want this type of thing to turn out to be the late night news on CNN. Golfer angers resting person and resting person reaches out of rest area to grab ball. The ball will not be returned either.
That would be worse than getting trapped in a small pond on the course or in a sand trap.

Then lets suppose, those resters just will not rest once golfers, the gallery and camera men are running here there and every where?

There must be given more though to this enterprise.

Let Trump put in his 2 billion cents. Ha!
Thank you for the laughs. Ha!

Here we have a woman in torment when she finds out that her husband has betrayed her in so many ways.
She is hanging on by a thread trying to keep things together for the children's sake.
She is going through a myriad of emotions but must remain quiet and composed.
The foundation they built is falling in around her and he is off starting a new life.
Meanwhile she cries and broods and thinks about the time that she invested in this living illusion.
Does she look at him the same now? No.
Does she realize she doesn't need him to put value to her life? Yes.
Will she make it cause she is strong? Yes.

After pain staking investigation our author tries to bring to lite the mystery of the missing sock.
The process wasn't easy, by any means. When we think of this poor soul burning one of each shoe to the shoe gods for answers; later walking with one shoe to work and the like.

Finally buying new shoes and yet the mystery still lives on.

There have been many theories. The socks go to other dimensions. The socks run away to join the circus. They hate the stinky feet they must cover. Alas, another theory comes our way.

Actually, one can understand how this just might be the long lost answer. Sensible, maybe a bit off the wall. Yet it's as good as any of the others.

Thank you for this informative piece.
Just one problem comes to mind. If a person no longer has teeth, why do the socks still disappear?

A man is dead. Two women in custody. The investigation yielded information vital to the case.
The trial begins and so does the questioning.
There they set, the two women, as the evidence revealed the killer.
All they needed was a confession.

This is interesting and clever.
Nice twist to the story.
Didn't see it coming.
