WDC is a mature young adult now
25 years of splendid growth, wow!
September sun rises with a special charm,
shiny rays unveil enchanting festivities from dawn.

Writers vie to praise the winsome site
in stories and poems and to win a prize.
Party central offers generous gps and new emoticons,
merit badges and a variety of colorful awardicons.

A day of gloom or an impending doom
shatter, when I sign in to writing dot com.
My heart sings again and words find a flow,
in poems and stories and I start to glow.

When on vacation, standing by a gushing waterfall
mirroring the forest green and the hills standing tall
my heart beats in unison with mother nature who smiles
offering vistas of pines and fragrant lavender, a feast to eyes.

My pen hurries to put them down the moment I am home
WDC welcomes my lines no matter day or night or noon.
It is 25 years since the inception of this benevolent site
like bees to blossoms newbies gather around to read and write.

For many it is therapeutic, for some it is an outlet to give way
to feelings and thoughts and things that they can’t otherwise say.
Here’s a wish from my the depth of my heart and soul
May the WDC go on with success to gather more to its core.
