It’s not your bank balance,
fast cars, huge investments,
or your wide circle of friends
that ever attach me to you.

It’s your fair play and charity
of speech, action and thought,
an aura of childlike innocence,
courtesy to all, rich or common,

draw me magnet-like, relentless.
My world crumbles, emptiness echoes,
the shape and color of my existence lost
without your scintillating presence.

Don’t send me flowers my love,
or cards with loving sentiments.
I don’t miss them at all because
all I want is you! Nothing else matters.
