Welcome to My Reality Prompt: Do you write what you know or write what you read?

I try to write what I know or write from experience. I write for fun as well. I get ideas from things I read or let my imagination take over and go with the flow. Sometimes when I can't sleep, my thoughts run rapid and I get writing ideas. I get ideas past stories that I have written. I am always on the look out for things to write about.
