When A Window Opened

Prompt: Write about a time when a window opened when a door was shut.

My husband was putting gas in the tractor in the garage and the tractor caught on fire and our house burned down. I felt like my life was over but my husband and I got out safely along with our cat. I felt like my life was over. The insurance paid off and we got a nicer house and got our life back on track but I felt like a door had shut. I felt like I would never get my life back but we did. A window had opened after the house fire. I was able to savage a few things from the fire like: pictures, some special items, jewelry so the door might have shut but I crawled out the window. Not literally of course.
