The Tanaga is a Filipino form consisting of four line stanzas with seven syllables per line and a rhyme scheme of aaaa, bbbb, cccc, etc., with some variations in rhyming being used by contemporary poets,

Grateful am I, for your help,
For you God sent, my heart kept.
Love I’m filled with, this I’m sure,
Your help for me was so pure.

Reward in Heaven, not earth,
Our love has so much more worth.
You will find that love bestowed,
Makes the whole wide world to glow.

Jesus spoke of love and peace,
Why don’t you make all hate cease.
Pray each day to God of love,
When you die you’ll see above.
