Learning a lesson about listening to rumors... |
| I wanted to see How long it would take For him to come clean, What excuses he'd make. So, I acted as if I just didn't know, Had no idea of The woman named Flo. Day after day He lied to my face. Not once did he mention He'd been to her place. It stressed me until I Couldn't take any more. It was time to confront him, To settle the score. I showed him the pictures And asked for the truth. That's when he told me About a woman named Ruth! I had to sit down I was thrown for a loop. It took a few minutes For me to regroup. When I'd gathered myself, I kicked him to the curb And went to the friend Who had started the blurb. I thanked her a bunch For letting me know, My man had problems With me, Ruth and Flo. The lesson was learned Though it gave me the blues, Don't expect a confession Of second hand news! |
