Poll for AUTHOR's SPOTLIGHT. Who should ask for the dance? The guy or the girl?

The relationships between men and women are changing these days. No longer is it solely the man's initiative to "make the move" (although my mother might beg to differ!). Although situations differ, I'm curious as to how the WDC community thinks in general. *Smile*

So here's the question:

Personally, who do you think should ask first in a date situation (e.g. dances, movies, etc): the man or the woman?
