A fun poem about Halloween, with a reality twist - yum! |
| Children dazzling in broad day light, Then hitting the streets on Halloween night, As decorations offer their promise Of trick-or-treat candy fulfilling such prowess. But carving the pumpkin proves so gory, Extracting those seeds, a gooey story, Though humble eating later on, And a lit up specter not soon gone! But big, nasty teenagers ring the bell, Way too adult now, we can tell; They’re wearing clothes not really costumes, And ready to insult us, to seal our dooms… One year, someone smashed our pumpkin, It was quite a clean-up, that awful somethin’ – During this time of giving treats, One of their least spectacular feats… Never did we display one again, For fear of hostile, vain young men – This spirit of rewarding innocent kids Shall never include smashed pumpkin lids. But all types of people rely so much, On generous folks feeling so clutch – Giving so kindly to neighborhood children Is something we’d strive for again and again! |
