A Naga Uta Poem about a first love. |
The first time I loved I was nestled in your arms; I cannot forget how you wooed me with your charm. You made me feel rare, like I was one of a kind. I felt so special; you told me I was divine, smart, breathtaking, and the most ravishing of all. The first time I grieved I was completely appalled; I cannot forget how you touched her with your hands. You made me feel used, like a rag on your washstand. I felt so stupid; you flat out lied to my face. The first time I loved, a time I was so disgraced, still, I'd not have it replaced. A Naga Uta Poem has a syllable structure of 5/7/5/7/5/7/5/7/5/7... etc. The length can be as long or short as the poet wishes. The end of the poem must have a syllabic structure of 5/7/7. Rhyme and meter are not required. 2nd place in Charles's Monthly Poetry Contest 12/2011 |
