A RETIREE CONTEMPLATES LIFE AS HE SAW IT |
What is Life? Is this all there is to life? We ask. Rocking away, having completed our last task. Where did sixty years of dreams disappear? We sadly ask, as our twilight years draw near. Were our graduation soliloquies merely quips. That disappeared like fog bound ships We came to earth determined to make our mark. Now it's time to leave, as life completes its' arc What happened to our glorious plans, to set the world afire? Chased into darkness, replaced with yet another desire. If only we could return and set things straight. To be unburdened of every devilish trait. To speak out loud in western fashion One more time, with re-found passion To find an answer to the age old question of men and mice. What is life? Is this all there is to life? Ron Rosewood |
