Defeat

Depression is all encompassing leaving the sufferer confused and brutally beaten.

Endlessly falling, tumbling,
Intangible world going awry
Climbing back up to realize
I've just been going deeper down.

No direction to find
Little hopes
Smaller realities
When will it end?

Lost, I can't stop trying
Hoping, Praying, Striving
Crawling closer to the bottom
If I see it as up!

My mental limbs bone-weary
Spirit where do you hide the
Strength to endure another kick?

Too dumb-numb to stop
Not knowing
How to quit or escape
Down will be Up I know it!

Master of defeat, idealist unfulfilled
Architect of failure,
Is hop a promise or unattained ideal
Shall Defeat claim my soul?
