I gave Cubby~On the road again!   a great idea when I read on her blog how she is making COVID masks. So I decided to share it with the whole WDC world...for those of you others who have nothing to do but sit at home & make masks. (J/K...I know yall are doing MORE THAN JUST SITTING @ home). When you make a mask out of an old pillowcase or tee-shirt, if you have central heat/air in your house (who doesn't? in this day & age), you have to buy those filters. Ok...here goes... get a filter (depending on the number, 1 should be plenty) and when you measure for the size of the mask you are cutting in the fabric...cut out the white filter part of the filter to 1/8th to 1/4, no smaller, and stick it in the folds of the fabric you are sewing together. The smaller dimensions is so you fold the edges of the material over the edges of the filter...kinda like when you are sewing seams in a blouse or skirt. I wish I could draw o a picture on here to show yall what Im talking about...but essentially, it comes down to this...you are sewing the HVAC filter INTO the mask...you cant see it once sewn up. If ANYONE tries this...and it is a success...feel free to patent it, so you can make some money selling these...because if you use the highly concentrated filters ..the HEPA filters....I think they will be the best on the market....so feel free to steal my idea from me....LOL...I dont care & wont mind...just as long as we all stay healthy. |

| Yep, I was born and raised in Texas and now, I've done settled in Deep East Texas in the city of Nacagdoches which claimes to be the OLDEST city in Texas, but there is a hot dispute on that by a few other cities which also claim that there right. | This is one of those 'YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS JUST BECAUSE' stories. I just found it on the internet. Very disturbing, considering what's really being found out about this corona virus. (just a side note, I saw one day in a forum somebody called it the coronabeer virus....gotta love some people's warped sense of humor...LOL) Moderna Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq:MRNA) stock ROSE by as much as 30%...while ALL other stocks have been tumbling the last few days... due to the scare of this corona virus. ALSO.... the virus DID NOT come from eating bats in soups, as we were originally told.. It was being cultured in a lab in China. (CAN YOU SAY BIOCHEMICAL WARFARE, BOYS & GIRLS?) Problem was...somebody got some out into public... & now you get what we have here today. Now before all yall go shouting "CONSPIRACY THEORIST!" at me...I will do this in all fairness. I will quit typing right here.... let YALL go find this information out...(kind of hard to hide a 30% raise in your stock when all stock market info is public knowledge)… and let YALL make your OWN decisions in what may have been going on over there in Kung Fu land. |
| Brad-You're right. They should have kept them all on one base in a quarantined ward. They were so dumb to spread it all over the country. China may wipe us out with this. There are a lot of dumb people, and people that do their jobs but have no common sense anymore. We have a 40% drop out rate in our town. that is a lot of uneducated people to make big mistakes. |
| My guess as to why they split them up is that most hospitals have a very limited number of negative pressure rooms and other equipment intended for highly infectious diseases. Those are the rooms are far beyond a typical hospital room where someone with pneumonia, regular flu, or whatever else might be. They require special door entryways, ventilation, fans, seal, duct work, monitoring system, etc. Many hospitals don't have any negative pressure rooms at all, so it's unlikely that there were enough unused beds at any one hospital to house all the potential patients. |
