in the late midnight hours
I watched you. Watched you
alone in a dark room.
In the late midnight hours,
I saw you through an open window
watching you dance
in the late midnight hours
I watched you in the distance
spying on you, watching you
with another man.
I watched you alone that night
hoping for something else.
I watched you with him
and hoped you were someone else
in the late midnight hours
I stood alone. aware of the pain
you caused me, and knew I was left alone
