Welcome to my blog: I intend to share heartfelt writing about anything that comes to mind. |
| I have a bad headache today. I will still try to do my writing, but I don't feel like doing anything else today. I barely feel up to doing this. Hopefully, this headache doesn't last long. By the way, I am working on figuring out the review process for the other blog group and review forums. I know how to do a review and link it to the group application for Space blog and blog city, but am still trying to figure out everything. I dare you! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Take UP Your Cross Prompt: Jeremiah 17:7-8 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. This passage is similar to the one found in Psalm 1. How do they compare to each other, and what does this mean for you? Answer: We are blessed when we put our hope and trust in the Lord. This Scripture compares to Psalm 1 in that they both compare the result of the blessings to a tree planted by the water. In Psalm 1, the person delights in and thinks continually on God's law and avoids fellowship with the ungodly. In this Scripture, a person puts their hope and trust in the Lord. I believe these Scriptures coincide with one another. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scripture writing - Psalm 20:1-5 Scripture: 1 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; 2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; 3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. 4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. Observations: Verse 1- This Psalm is a blessing of sorts. It is wishing well to the reader that God hears them when they call upon him when they are in trouble and that God would defend them. Verse 2- The blessing continues, that God would send help and strength. Verse 3- continuing the blessing, God would remember and honor all their sacrifices and offerings. Verse 4- Blessing continues, that God would grant them all their heart’s petitions and fulfill all your conversations. Verse 5- The blessing being continued, concludes with rejoicing in the Lord because he will fulfill your requests and provides you with Salvation. Application: We are blessed in the Lord. He is our hope and Salvation. We can trust him to deliver us out of trouble when we call upon him to do so. He gives us strength. He judges our gifts to him, and will not receive them with evil intentions. God judges the heart and not just the outward appearance. We can depend upon him to answer our prayers. We can rejoice in the Lord because of all his blessings. Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for your blessings. I am so glad we have you to trust in and rely on when we need help. Thank you for your help and strength. Salvation is only found in you. Please accept our offerings to you and help us to remember to make sure we are giving them with the right attitude and heart. Write about the Royals in your Blog entry today. I don’t know if I should say this or not, but by blood, Queen Elizabeth is my 8th cousin. When I did some genealogy research a few months back, I found out that we have a grandfather in common, Alexander Warner. Now if we were to meet accidentally on the street some where (which is highly unlikely) I would be nothing to her especially since I am poor. So I am not bragging, but it was quite interesting to find this out. Alexander Warner had 3 daughters. Two daughters stayed in America and one went back to England and married a man there. This is the line of Queen Elizabeth. My line obviously extends from one of the other daughters. This is on my mother's ancestry line. There's something different to read about the royals 👸 |

Verse 8- Everyone should trust in God all the time. We can pour our hearts out to him and take refuge in him. Verse 9- We can not measure our worth by earthly possessions. Earthly possessions are vain. They will come to nothing eventually. We can't take them with us when we die. Verse 10- we should not rely on earthly goods. We shouldn't rob or oppress others for worldly gain. We should not even set our heart on them to desire them greatly. Verse 11- All power belongs to God. Verse 12- God is merciful, but is the one who rewards every one for their actions rather they are good or bad. Application: We can trust God for everything. Our worth is measured by God and not what earthly possessions we have. God is all-powerful. God is merciful and everyone’s ultimately judge. We should always glorify him. Prayer: Dear God, I am thankful that I can always find refuge in you. You are everything to me. You are always willing to hear what I have to say. Help me to remember to never trust in earthly goods. You are all-powerful and worthy of all my praise. Thank you for your mercy. I am a guest judge of this contest for March, April, and May. Prompts can be found towards the bottom of the contests page. One of the prompts is for today. Today is a great day to write a poem about St. Patrick's Day! I only have one entry so far. Come and submit an entry or two. Make it a challenge for me. I want to read some great poems.😉 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Up Your Cross Prompt: James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. What does it mean to look into the perfect law of liberty? How do we avoid being a forgetful hearer? Answer: James 1:22-24 answers these questions. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. To not be a forgetful hearer means we must act upon what we hear. We must hear the word of God and do what it says. I find it interesting that James uses a mirror as an example of looking into the law of liberty. To understand this comparison, we must first understand that one of the purposes of the Word of God is to reveal sin. When we look at ourselves in the mirror, it typically doesn't lie to us about how we look. We can see exactly what we look like, flaws and all. When we read/ hear the Word of God, it can be like looking into a mirror. We begin to be even more aware of our flaws. This is what verses 23 and 24 are talking about. When we are a forgetful hearer, we see our flaws and do nothing to try to fix them. It is like looking in a mirror, seeing our hair is messy, and not brushing or combing it. Looking into the perfect law of liberty is looking into God's Word.

Selah. 5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. Observations: Verse 1- My soul has no choice but to wait upon God for my Salvation. Verse 2- He is my security and defense, and there is no other God like him. I might be shaken up a little bit, but I am securely positioned in him. Verse 3- If you imagine evil against your fellow man, you will be like a wall or fence that is rotten or not in good repair. Verse 4- people who imagine evil against others, only want to bring the good men down, they love lying and lies and they are two-faced. They have evil thoughts inwardly while pretending to be friendly outwardly. Verse 5- It may appear these people are getting away with evil thoughts and deeds, especially when we are currently suffering as a result of them, but God will judge them in the end. We can expect God to deliver us and take vengeance upon them in his good timing. Application: It may seem like people are getting away with acting and thinking evil, but we must remember God is patient and long-suffering. He expects us to be that way also. Sometimes people endure abuse (like a wife of an abusive husband) for years and wonder why God is allowing this evil to happen. He is definitely aware of what is going on. He isn't pleased about it especially if the wife is a believer. God gives us all time to repent. How do you think he feels when we abuse and reject him? We must learn to wait upon God. He looks at the heart and the bigger picture. We can only see a little bit of the whole picture. His mercy endures forever, and it sometimes feels like it too. 😉 Even if someone has evil thoughts towards you secretly, but acts like a saint in front of your face, God will be their judge, and he always has your back. Prayer: Dear God our Father, Thank you for your protection. Thank you for your mercy. Help me to show your mercy to others even when they sin against me. Help me to forgive them as you have forgiven me. You are my security and the permanent anchor of my soul. I love you. We just have to be patient and trust God. Verse 10- we should do good works every chance we get. Application: Rather we do good or bad works, we will receive a reward for them. Prayer: Dear God, Help me to always do what is right. Forgive me of my sins, and help me to change what needs changing. Help me to always think before I act especially when I am angry. This is talking about the 1,000 year reign of Christ at the end of days. Explain the first resurrection and the second death. Answer: I found an internet link to an article that explains this even better than I can. https://www.gotquestions.org/resurrection-first-second.html Revelation 21:6-8 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. This passage explains the second death. Personally, I get a little confused when it comes to the 1000 year reign of Christ. I do believe it is interesting to hear different views on “end-time” prophecy.

Observations: Verse 1- If we see someone is struggling with a sin, we should lovingly let them know what we have observed in the spirit of meekness (humbleness). However, we should be careful that we are not drawn away into sin with them. Verse 2- By baring one another’s burdens, we are following Christ's example. Verse 3- A man only deceives himself if he thinks himself to be more than he is. Verse 4- I think this verse is saying that actions speak louder than words. Prove your worth through your actions. You can rejoice when you know you have done a good job and someone else didn't have to do it. We feel good about ourselves when we know we have done well. Verse 5- Every person has their own burden to bear and their own set of responsibilities. Verse 6- I believe this is saying that we should listen to the Holy Spirit when being taught the Word of God. John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Application: We should communicate with others humbly when we observe them committing a sin, but be careful that we don't get drawn into sin too. We follow Christ’s example and live out his law of love when we bear each other’s burdens. Every person should prove themselves by their actions instead of just boasting with their mouth. When they have done well, they will feel good about themselves. Everyone has a burden and responsibility of their own. Always consult the Holy Spirit when someone is teaching you God's Word because the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth and is able to prevent you from being misinformed. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving us your Holy Spirit as a constant companion who will teach us the truth and shine a light on any lies. Help us to follow your example of love and always be ready and willing to help others. Help us to be bold enough to tell others when we observe sin or something not quite right, but help us to be humble and gentle instead of harsh, judgemental, and prideful. Let me always remember actions speak louder than words. Help me to always listen to the spirit of truth. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scripture: 13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Observations: Verse 13- We are no longer bound by the law of Moses. Therefore, we are under the law of liberty and freedom in Christ. However, we need to use our freedom to love and put others before ourselves. We should not use our freedom in Christ as an excuse to commit sin. Verse 14- Basically all the laws of Moses can be summed up as love others as you love yourself. (This also means we should love ourselves like we love others.) Verse 15- Obviously, when we are at war with one another and fighting, then someone is likely to get hurt. Application: Even Christ said the first commandment was to love God with all your heart and the second was to love your neighbor as yourself. Keep these 2 things in mind, and all the commandments and laws of God are based on these 2 principles. We don't want to use our freedom in Christ as an excuse to sin. We are to use the freedom God gives us to love others with the Love of God like he has loved us. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the freedom I have in you. Help me to never misuse any of the precious gifts you give. Help me to love others the way you love them and me too. Give me the wisdom to put others before myself. What does it mean to watch and be ready? What are we watching for? Answer: We are to watch and be ready for the second coming of Christ. We never know what time he will return. Observations: Verse 14- God delivers those that love him. He sets them on high places. Verse 15- God answers their prayers and will be with them and honour them. He will deliver them from trouble. Verse 16- God will show them his salvaiand satisfy them with long life. Application: Love God. He will deliver you out of all trouble. He will satisfy and honour you. He will give you long life and bless you with Salvation. He will answer all your prayers. Prayer: Dear God, I love you. Thank you for all your blessings and promises. We can be undefiled by following and obeying the law of God. We keep God's Word close to us. We are made righteous (undefiled) through faith in the righteousness of Christ. It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. There are several verses that tell us to seek God. Here are a couple of my favorite ones. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Deuteronomy 4:29 29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. With these other verses also in mind, seeking the Lord with all your heart is seeking him with your deepest passion and sincerity. We are to seek him first and foremost above anything else. We should pursue God with everything in us and all our being.

Observations: Verse 9- Because you have made God your dwelling place, (He is a refuge. We make him our dwelling place by keeping our focus on him. We live according to his will and seek his presence always.) Verse 10- We have God's protection from any evil thing. No plague or sickness will come upon us while we are in God's presence. Verse 11- God commands his angels to protect us no matter what. Verse 12- They will protect us even in small matters of stubbing our toes. Verse 13- we can face and conquer larger enemies such as the dangers wild animals might present because his angels have been told to protect and to help us. Application: When we stay focused on God and continually seek his presence, we have God's protection. In God's will and presence is the safest place to be. He will command his angels (plural as in more than one) to protect and help us in all of our ways. Prayer: Dear God, Help me to seek your presence and your will always. Give me confidence that I can face any obstacle life throws at me with your help and the help that you send through your angels. Thank you for your protection. Deliver me from evil. Observations: Verse 13- No man is ever tempted with evil by God. Verse 14- Man is tempted by the devil when he is enticed by his own fleshly lusts and desires. Verse 15- Lust is conceived and brings forth sin when temptation is yielded to. When sin happens, it works death within us. Verse 16- The note in my study Bible says that man is prone to error and must be constantly warned against it. Verse 17- Every good gift comes from God. He does not discriminate. Verse 18- God brings us into being by his will and word of truth. (We are born again by the truth of his word and his will.) He wants us to be the best and first of all his creatures. Application: God does not tempt man with evil. Every man is tempted by the devil and the lust and desires of his flesh. Lust causes us to yield to sin, and sin’s final result is death. We need to be constantly reminded not to yield to our fleshly lusts and sin. Every good gift we receive comes from God. He gets all the glory. We are born again through God's will and the truth of his Word. He wants us to be the best of all his creatures. Prayer: Dear God, Help me to resist temptations. Reveal to me the lust that is in my flesh so I can deal with it appropriately. Thank you for all the good things that you have given me. Let me never give credit belonging to you to anyone else. Thank you for always wanting what is best for me. In Jesus's name, Amen Jesus is my permanent anchor! |

I know not everything is going the way you want it to. You are frustrated with yourself. Everything will eventually work out. Just keep trying. I am not sure how we are going to get you to log your intake. I know it is hard. It isn't enjoyable. It takes extra time and effort. It isn’t easy or convenient to measure everything out precisely. I know this is a big reason you don't want to record your intake. Maybe you can find a better way to do it. There has got to be a way that will work for you. We just have to find it. Don't be to hard on yourself. You are having legitimate health issues that make every day life a huge challenge. The last thing you need right now is to give in to depression. God has got this. Continue to count your blessings. There is a time and purpose to everything. Everything works together for good for you because you are called according to God's purpose. Your only and complete help is from him alone. Praise him and trust him in everything. Why is the Lord waiting and why do we have to wait for him while he is waiting? Answer: Long-suffering is one way to describe the Lord. He is willing to wait until the time is just right and we should be willing to wait until then too. In this verse, he is waiting so he can give grace and mercy to whom he chooses. This brings him glory. It allows him to be the ultimate judge. So when you see someone constantly being bad, making foolish life choices, and hating the laws and ways of God, praise him for his mercy. God is giving them time to repent because he loves them too. He isn't ignoring it. On the other hand, if they still refuse to repent and change their evil ways, they are heaping upon themselves the wrath of Almighty God, and it shouldn't be taken lightly. This is why the Psalmest says the following in chapter 50, verses 21 and 22. Psalm 50:21-22 21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. 22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

Observations: Verse 5- We don't have to be afraid of terrors in the night or weapons during the day. Verse 6- we don't have to be afraid of pesky unseen threats like viruses, nor do we have to be afraid of terrorism or unexpected calamities. Verse 7- People may be dropping dead all around you, but God will deliver you. Give him praise! Verse 8- You will be able to see with your own eyes what happens to the wicked. Application: God is in control, and he will protect me. Nothing catches God by surprise. He will let me see him reward the wicked for their evil works against me. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I give you praise! I can trust you at all times. You always have my back. Nothing can take you unaware. You will allow me to see you take your wrath out on my enemies, but you are full of mercy. I love to see your grace and mercy more than I do your wrath. Teach us to only fear you. Observations: Verse 9- The brother of low degree is a brother of lower status. If someone else exalts him, he has reason to rejoice. Verse 10- However, if a rich man is brought low, he doesn't have his riches to take security in. He has to rely on God. As the grass dies, so will the rich man. All his riches can not save his soul or his body from eventual death. Verse 11- This is an explanation of verse 10. Verse 12- We are blessed when we don't yield to temptation. God gives us the crown of life. Application: God gives us the crown of life and blesses us when we refuse to yield to temptation. We should never rely on riches. All the riches of the world can not save our soul or our body from death. Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for your promises and your Word that we can trust in. Help us to endure temptation so we can receive the crown of life and be blessed. May we never rely on the riches of this world, but put all of our hope and trust in you. In Jesus's Holy name, Amen |

How do we keep judgment and do justice and keep from polluting the Sabbath day? Answer: I believe this is saying to make good choices. Do what is right always. The way to do this is to make Christ your focus. We keep the Sabbath by setting it aside for rest and worshipping God.

Application If I stay focused on God, He will keep me safe. Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, Help me to keep my focus on you and stay dwelling in your presence. Let me know your truth as a shield. Observations: Verse 2- When you are tempted, be joyful. Verse 3- When your faith is tried, it causes you to increase patience. Verse 4- As patience is developed in you, you will become whole and not lack any good thing. Verse 5- If you lack wisdom how to face any trial, ask God what to do. He will give you the wisdom to know how to handle it. Verse 6- when you ask anything of God, you need to have unwavering faith, knowing he here's you and will answer your prayers. Verse 7- If your faith wavers, you will not receive what you ask for. Verse 8- If you are not focused on God, you will not be stable. Application: Stay focused on trusting God. We can be joyful when we are tempted or have our faith tried, knowing it is for our good and we will come out better for it in the end. We can trust God to give us wisdom on how to handle any situation if we just ask him for it. Wavering faith shows lack of complete trust. Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for the confidence you provide in faith. Thank you for working in us to make us better even if it hurts a little. Help me to stay focused on trusting you. Don't let my faith waver. In Jesus name, Amen Jesus is my permanent anchor! |
