| Monday October 23, 2023 1:40 AM I am trolling around looking for ways to slap someone with a random act of kindness. I have found a couple. I got my breast cancer piece finished. I took an earlier piece and reworked it. "Road Trip"  Hopefully, it has more impact by showing what occurred not just telling. Completing a story can be a big hurdle for me. I get so involved in what is happening around the community, I don't take the time to do the primary thing at the base of everything we do here.I mistakenly sent out a story I wrote in my autobiographical book at Storyworth.com to my former BFF. Oops! Today I need to finish up with a review, reading at least one blog entry, and visiting a port of a favorite. That along with this blog entry are the minimum of four things I want to accomplish here. A fifth goal is to write at least one thing every month. It is a new October goal that I have met. | Sunday October 22, 2023 10:45 AM There has been a marked ebb and flow to my online presence. I am spread thin but give each venue my all. Until I pause...and don't meet my daily goals...setting myself up to fail. Now it has extended to my schoolwork which is not acceptable. I keep telling myself tomorrow will be different. So far, that isn't working. I feel good I have put something down here. Checking off the first of today's goals. |
Friday  October 20, 2023 8:30 AM I was on WdC until after midnight PDT. Since I am three hours behind WdC time, I get notified of things like points for reviews shortly after 9pm. I just signed on and I did not have one email in my inbox. That has never happened. I sent out a dozen or so emails. Perhaps you received one. I remembered my Kudos to You meme. "To have a friend is to be a friend." Now I have thought of this one: "To receive an email you need to send an email." I put that on my 'Just Do It' list to look for a signature image for that. I guess in other words, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  |
| Wednesday October 18, 2023 1:15 AM I had a busy Tuesday yesterday. I was here for maybe an hour is all. Had take-out steaks for dinner. I chatted with a bunch of people throughout the day. I got annihilated in WWF as usual by my sister and one of my former bosses They continue to play with me anyway Have to finish up a brief 175 word piece on how journalism has changed and what is "fake news" in my new class starting today, Journalism-Writing for Impact. I am taking the easy way out and doing some prompts. There is not much going on with me. I have been meeting my daily goals. While I am writing this entry I am watching the "Golden Bachelor" with a seventy-something bachelor named Gary. The women are worse than most women on the regular Bachelor in the catty department. A couple of women appear timeless. They are the quiet ones with good manners. I was so gullible when I heard the movie about Barbie was fun. The TV show is over and I pulled up the movie. I watched it and was not impressed. Every day she looked upstyle. Not just her hair but her clothes and accessories. She is an icon with young girls and grown-up girls who were lucky enough to have one (or more) when they were young. She has not aged a day since I first saw her when I was twelve. I question the voracity of everything Ken said. He wants Barbie any way he can get her. She rebuffs him throughout the movie. The whole thing was confusing. Every boy in the movie is named Ken. Every girl is named Barbie. The main Barbie attempted to circumvent any obstacle to her having a happy day...every day. I don't know how it ended. I muted it to take a phone call and now am typing in my blog. tracker |
Friday the 13th 8:45 AM Prompt from Blog City: Friday, the 13th and a Solar Eclipse on Saturday. Are you superstitious? If you think Friday the 13th is scary, try hanging out with me when I've been without coffee. Did you know Friday the 13th combines two taboos that come from the bible, accord to Stevens. Based on the story of the Last Supper of Jesus, 13 people were seated at the table and it happened on a Thursday. He was arrested that evening, and crucified the next day, on a Friday. "So 13 is associated with that terrible event. How do you feel about the number 13? Or is it just another day to you? This is spooky. I wrote an entry on 10/12 and early this morning for Friday the 13th. That should tell you what I think about the number 13. That is the reason hotels do not have a 13th floor. That will tell you why I avoid black cats on the 13th when it falls on a Friday. But, not to despair. There were only two Friday the 13th days last year and this year. Then two next year 2024 and only one in 2025. Since it doesn't happen often, most years I don't even think about it. Unless I am a member of WCD. Yep, there are reminders everywhere of today's date. Halloween is another theme that could spook you out with the images conjured up by diary names like Schnujo's Veiled Evil or GrueSom1. Just a thought. Would the day be totally different if the "12 Days of Christmas" song "13 Days of Christmas?" What would be on the 13th day? | Tuesday October 10, 2023 7:00 PM The boys of October are playing to see who is going to the World Series. Golf is the hardest game to watch on TV. Like watching paint dry. The baseball game is slightly better than that. Later 9:54 PM As happens all too often, I got distracted. I lost my train of thought. The train left the station without me. | Friday October 6, 2023 6:45 PM Another week that flew by even faster than the last one. I have gotten closer with my favorite sister who is three years younger than me. The youngest is seven years younger. We were always tight but both became busy with our grandkids. We talk a couple of times a week. She is the exact opposite of me. She is painfully shy. She doesn't speak until spoken to. She takes a few extra seconds to reply. It can be nerve wracking if I let it be, I don't miss ex-bff at all. I did half my homework last night. Another 3 1/2 days left to complete all of it for the week. I am procrastinating in the other class in math. I was not doing well. I reviewed all my work and discovered I passed over one quiz causing the low grade. The system allows you to make up any part of the course. I did the test and have just one point to be at the passing mark. I need to monitor the online time that is taking away from school time. Being here is way more fun than school. Still on track for graduating in August 2024. tracker |
