This stuffed Beanie Baby dog came tagged "tracker" which fits my search for knowledge.

Here are words I like to write
All day long 'til it is night.
Words go up and words go down
When complete approve the sound.

If you complete my little rhyme,
Things will come your way in time.

In another writing site, NaNoWriMo was not performed in the pure sense of writing a novel. Instead, the goal was to write in your diary every day in November. There was no theme, no novel writing unless someone wanted to, and no one entered a national contest.

In the newsfeed today 🌸 pwheeler - love joy peace wrote about Brandiwyn🎶 hosting prep exercises for the writing competition.

.

I am giving some thought to participating. The plus side is to write a novel. The big drawback is the time it involves. The prep is 15 minutes a day. The discipline that takes sounds easy, but in real life you would need a consistent time to prepare.

At this point in my WDC life, I think I would prefer to continue doing reviews and entering a contest now and then, Realistically, I can not do both.

I wrote a letter asking for forgiveness to reconcile with a very close friend. I was ready to mail it today. I went into a game you play with others and saw there was a resignation rather than a play with the person. That told me where I stand. I may revise the letter or not send one at all. I am leaning toward sending one much shorter than hashing over old stuff. Yes, that's the ticket and what I will do.

UPDATE 9/27/23: I wrote a new letter and mailed it yesterday. I sent her a gift I had promised a few weeks ago. It was delivered today. It is just not like her to not respond. I feel so much better today. I have no more tears. I have a sense of calm about it. I had my say and unless she refuses the letter, she will know I want to reconcile. After that, I have no control.

Blog City Prompt: Let's use these words in our entry today: twenty-three, candles, allocation, seed, explain, meet, and descent. Have fun!

It is September twenty-three today. I walked into the kitchen to soft boil a couple of eggs. Sitting on the counter were two unopened packages of birthday candles. I looked at them wondering why they were there and who they were for. The packages' allocation totaled forty-eight. I turned around and walked back to my desk to retrieve my birthday list. The list had disappeared. In its place was a tiny mustard seed.

I carried the seed back to the kitchen and showed it to my daughter. I had given her a necklace with a tiny mustard seed in it when she was young. She recognized the seed I showed to her.

"Do I need to explain?" I asked.

"No, Mom, I remember".

I told her I strive to meet the needs of others. I fell short with a close friend a few weeks ago and made a plunging descent into the depths of despair. And that is where it stands as I write this.

I was happy I caught up with my Storyworth autobiographical entries today. It is mainly focused on writing the story of your life, however, I suppose you could also write a novel. You're limited to 480 pages.

Other than that I did a review this morning for a piece written by a favorite here. I am trying to visit a favorite author every day for the month of September. I am visiting in the order I added them as a favorite. I missed a full week. I will keep at it until each one is completed. I try to leave a note on a guestbook to let them know why I am there and review one piece. I look for something that has not been reviewed before.

The best policy for me is to look at what I have accomplished as enough. It is what it is. I often wish I could have a do-over for days when I am a slug. I don't like wasting time. Time is not kind and marches on faster the older I get.

Results! Not Excuses!

This was taped above our blackboards in my fifth-grade classroom. It is so hard not to explain why I am not reaching even the bare minimum of daily goals. Lack of energy, motivation, and focus are a few. I am taking two college courses. One is Social Media Communications which is easy. Still, there are discussions, quizzes, and final assessments every week. Today is the day some things are due. I have done two. It was my day to study math and doing quizzes leading up to a unit test. It is an intro to college mathematics class. I know that anything beyond additions, subtraction, and division of whole numbers is of little use in real life. It is a pass or fail course where passing is 70%. So far I am passing.

Prompt: Cats
September is Happy Cats Month. Do you like cats? And why do you think some people get along with cats better than with other pets?

** Image ID #2304419 Unavailable **
My first cat is Gunther on the right. His brother Frances is on the left.

Yes, I love cats, and my cats in particular. I had my first cat when I was 8 years old. His name was Gunther. He was named after Gunther Toody, one of the officers in the TV show "Car 54 Where Are You?" He was almost all light gray. He had white hair under his chin and on his neck with white hair on the top of his paws. After Gunther, I had Buffy, Smokey, and Katrina. Currently, I am a fur Grandma to Ethan, Ron, and Harriet.

Some people get along with cats better because they were lucky to be born cat people. There are some who later are chosen by a cat and discover they love cats. It is easy to have a cat. They are low maintenance. They walk themselves. They give themselves baths. They provide a steady purr to lull you to sleep. They have nine lives so you don't have to worry much about them getting hurt. Cats prefer to live with practical, quiet, and responsible people who understand their desires. It is a bonus if their person reads which leaves a soft lap to sleep upon for hours.

Do you think the world would be different if the attack on the USA on September 11th had never happened? And do you believe the world will ever be free of terrorism?

Yes, the world would be different if 9/11 had never happened. I know the world will never be free of terrorism.

Lots of goals today.

Completed so far:
took a test and completed class ending today. New professor contacted for next class
working with grandson on laminating paper, he said he was looking for a mission to do today. I had him laminate the handwritten notes I had as reminders of how to link items and image/group codes. A productive learning moment.
texted friend-we promised to keep in touch and it has been 3 months
daily household chores
took care of 3 cats & 1 dog. Grandson is responsible for the fish
sent a blast from the past photos to granddaughters and daughter
called tech support to report a problem on the school portal and was given at work around while they fixed a glitch
listed in order the things to do here with the first being writing in my blog-checking that off the list
played the first morning round of Words With Friends. I am an average player and enjoy it
played my Farmville2 game to see if I would reach goals by Thursday when the system rates my performance
fixed peanut butter sandwich for lunch with sugar-free jello and diced peaches
packed my giveaway clothes for son in law to drop off on his way to work tomorrow
read the class overview of Social Media in Communications class that starts tomorrow
started sorting through WDC email while typing here multi-tasking on my second laptop

I love Sundays. I've never had a job I had to work Sundays. I do little or no business on that day. I do that because I need a day of rest. The other six days throughout my life have been overloaded with work, family, and all that goes with those. Today I will need to catch up on the final day of my final week in my current class "Organizational Communications." I have done a review and have another one in the pipeline.

I am so excited one of my friends has joined WDC. I was helping her this morning. Pshaw! She needs little help. She has books set up and her first entry in the can. She is smart and funny and just a super person. She is going to blog partly about her weight loss journey.

Welcome, Kerri aka Dragon Tears. Dragon Tears
