It was nice and cool this morning so I made strawberry popovers. A double batch. Drizzled them with cream cheese icing and went to take a shower. Returned to the kitchen to put them in a bag to freeze and the cookie sheet was empty. Hubby and dog both looked guilty. I asked if he'd already put them up in the freezer. He gave me that clueless look and asked, "Oh, you wanted to freeze some?" I should consider myself lucky I got any at all  Both he and the dog are now on my "list". I've been in the mood to crochet lately. Completed a few bears and a rabbit. Now, thanks to MoonMyst~🌌   I am working on a crab and octopus. I finished painting my wooden chests...they came out looking great! They look old and antique...now I need to re-attach their hardware and add a hanging string to hang them on the tree. Can put little treats inside the boxes as Christmas approaches. I should take pics so I can post them, but that might take a while because I need a new cord for downloading pics from my phone to my laptop. The dog got a hold of my other one and destroyed it. The weather needs to get just a little bit cooler and I plan to make a big pot of mock turtle stew. It has been a few years since I made it but I have all the ingredients and finally have a pot big enough to make it in. The original recipe is way too high in sodium so I've had to make some adjustments and hopefully, it will turn out decently. If it turns out well, I'll post the recipe. If not, I'll just keep trying! My husband surprised me yesterday and completely rearranged the bedroom! I've mentioned that to him a few times but didn't really push it. Yesterday he closed the door and wow! He turned the bed so it is on a different wall, facing towards the window now and put the dresser on the far side of the room. It really opened up the room and it feels like there is more space there. Then he took down the summer curtains and put up the thicker, solid-colored fall/winter curtains. They help block the cold that seeps in through the windows. He hung my winter curtains in the living room as well. Today, we will rearrange the living room and get it ready for when we put up the tree. We are planning to get the tree up maybe Nov.1st. We are a little late this year. Some years we get the tree up by October and decorate it for fall as a Thanksgiving tree...then swap out the decor after thanksgiving for Christmas. This year, we will just do Christmas.  |
