Sprinting Together
How many the days!
How many the nights!
We sprinted together!
Ate big, wordy bites.

Each novel we wrote
in the balances hung.
We hoped it'd be done
with great vict'ry then sung.

Exhausted we'd be
when day's sprintings were o'er.
To sleep we would go,
then awaking for more.

When sprinting the minis,
officials and all.
Our totals we'd post,
positions would fall.

Adrenaline waits
for the next thing to do.
"Take a chill pill, my friend.
Latest book is now through."
