Chilled to the Bone
So, what makes temperature seem extreme?
What changes it so fast?
Last week "Still summer" was the theme,
but now the cold is cast.

This morning woke to chilly feet.
They're chilly quite, right now.
The gray cloud cover, that we meet
makes chilly back to bow.

With things to do out in the town,
I wonder how to keep
the chilly feeling battened down,
while warmth's a constant seep.

Here's but a thought, I'll meet the chill
with coffee and a quilt.
When I get home my toes will thrill,
that's why warm rooms are built.
