Evening Prayer
"Dear Lord, what can we hope to see
in this new year of clean slate days?
Will walking true set spirits free?
Please, grant us all Your Words obey.

"We have no good to bring in hand.
To the Merits of Your Son we cling.
He bought Salvation through Your Plan.
Forever this great Gift we sing.

"Dear Lord, events on Earth bring grief.
Such pain and war do cast us down.
How long before Your Blest Relief
restores the smile in place of frown?

"That Jesus' Rulership is sure,
we live convinced, do ever know.
Each heart, that is by Him made pure
will serve Him e'er in good to grow.

"Dear Lord, You choose the souls You save.
You draw them with the cords of love,
that coming ne'ermore held by grave
in Joy to live with You Above.

"Regenerated by the Breath,
by The Spirit's working through His Will
relieved by Grace from fear of death.
Your Purpose evermore fulfill.

"Dear Lord, we long for Your Return,
that all things may be put most right.
Cause the Sin of Earth to know the burn
of Jesus' Merits or the Night.

"We keep our post, until You come,
that by Your Pow'r we'll faithful be.
Amen in ev'ry part and sum
to glory, laud, and honor He.
"
