Snowy Night
The snowy night is all but gone.
Another night we face is cold.
The winter chill doth flee anon
when two more months are lately told.

But 'til that day, the snowy night
doth linger in the realm of may
for cold and hot and coldest plight
are possibilities in play.

The snowy night doth cover ills
of Earth with blanket purest white.
Immediate we know the chills
as darkness covers hoped for light.

Most years there is no snowy day
for this far south the night is our
best freezing tool upon display
as morning is the melting hour.

The snowy night's a memory
as though it were our Christmas Eve.
A hopeful moment, heart set free,
a passing grace, that gives reprieve.
