Crescent Moon
Crescent Moon

Tiny sparks prink the darkened sky,
hedge a waning crescent moon
stark and alone and hanging high,
soft winds sing their midnight tune.

City lights obscure night's beauty
but here in my mountain home
I can see heaven's clarity
ensuring I shall not roam.

I've chosen a life away from the crowd
and I'm rewarded with night skies unbowed.
