Eyeshine - biology / physiology - "Tapetum lucidum" is a retroreflective tissue membrane inside the eyes of many different animal species. By reflecting a higher amount of light into the retina, the tapetum greatly increases vision in low-light conditions. Tapetum lucidum is commonly visible through an effect called "eyeshine".
