I was locked in,
so, with my golden key--
(a skeleton key with a long shank
and a filigreed head)
I unlocked my heart

and sent it out into the world,
gathering myths here,
surfing through stories there

until I unlocked the way to
my muse (he grew disgusted
and left some time ago)

and when I found him (my dragon muse)
I unlocked my courage
and I threw myself into his wings
and we soared through
the beginnings of a tale.
